OK mate, points taken. Let's see how Joe fares when he steps up to LHW. Personally, I have masses of confidence in him.

Oh come on guys. Forget about the 'white boy' comment. Can you blame Hopkins for wanting to put win over Jones on his record? It doesn't mean **** in 2007, but on paper it still looks like Bernard avenging his past defeat... and at age 93, he's earned the right to think about his 'legacy'..

And what is with people changing fighters names to try to make fun of them?

    "Calfaggy"?

Are you ****ing serious? That is the stupidest thing I've ever seen. Thats the kind of like an 11 year old kid would come up with.

Just ignore that guy he's a ****ing idiot. That being said though, both Bernard and Calzaghe are cool customers, I don't think either of them was really losing it. They both tested each other, and realized they're both too clever to let the other get under their skin. Thats how I saw it at least. I mean come on, can you really say Hopkins acted flustered? Hopkins is a MASTER at psychological games with his opponents. What could he possibly get flustered about? Calzaghe didn't actually embarrass him or anything, they were just attacking each other back and forth.

And are you seriously trying to say Calzaghe came all the way over here just to talk to Bernard? Yeah right man, don't try to put more into a conversation than there really is. And how can you possibly say has been ducking Calzaghe since 2002?? Bernard has been a start since precisely late 2001. Calzaghe was a COMPLETE unknown in the world of big money boxing until he fought Lacy, and even after that, its taken him until his fight with Kessler to get on a big HBO broadcast.

Bernard had absolutely NO motivation to fight Calzaghe. Also consider mate, that until the past couple of years, Calzaghe has NEVER fought anyone worth mentioning. Not a single one. Eubank was washed up, and the rest were basically nobodies. I'm not saying Calzaghe isn't worthy of the praise he's finally getting, but come on man. Saying Joe Calzaghe was ducked by Bernard Hopkins is like saying Floyd was ducking Margarito!

You know what, nothing you say has any credibility when you say things ike "Calfag". I mean come on man. That is the kind of thing a 12 year old kid would come up with. I am seriously in awe of how incredibly ****ing immature and just frankly STUPID saying something like that is.

Reminds me of "Floyd Gayweather", or "Oscar Gay La Hoya", etc etc.

Are they offensive to Floyd or Oscar?

No. They just make the person who says them seem like a complete ****ing idiot.

He has stated NUMEROUS times that a Jones rematch makes ZERO sense.

And he is correct in stating that.

If Jones is shot, which he may well be, for whatever reason, where is the glory in fighting him?

Does Holmes' victory over Ali improve Holmes' legacy ?

Does Tyson's defeat of Holmes improve his legacy ?

There was never a day during Jones' prime that Hopkins would have had a ghost of a chance. The two guys were on completely different levels of the sport.

Only the most devoted and deluded Hopkins fans would argue otherwise.

Similarly, what has Calzaghe to gain from defeating BHop at this stage of Hopkins's career ?

Bernard has everything to gain and nothing to lose.

Joe should be pursuing the Pavlik /Taylor winner or Dawson.

The Calzaghe/Hopkins fight should have happened years ago when it would have been meaningful and interesting.

At this point, it's just another scalp on Joe's resume, like Louis for Marciano, like Ali for Holmes and like Holmes for Tyson.

I know you're a big BHop fan but look at it realistically. BHop couldn't deal with Taylor (regardless of who you feel won, it was razor thin)

    Calzaghe will embarrass BHop.

Bernard should be looking for a winnable fight (Miranda? ) and then honour his promise to his mother and retire.

This might sound like a wierd thing to say, but I know a couple of "***gots" who are seriously hard as ****ing nails. One of these guys (a mate of my girlfriend, actually) was getting hassle in the street (from a BIG fella) for being gay and I have never seen such a beatdown before or since. The guy doesn't look like anything special either -- small, average build, with a skinny boyfriend. Fight-wise he is a ****ing monster!

Moral of the story: just because he's a "******" (gay men really despise this term) doesn't mean he can't kick your ass. Never underestiimate a *** -- it only makes you look more stupid if you get smacked down!

Watch this vid...he clearly states that he has ZERO desire in fighting Jones. He puts it perfectly actually...just watch.

As for the Calzaghe/Hopkins fight...you guys are FAAAAAAAR underestimating a legend...not always a good idea.

But some of us can pick fights to scary accuracy.

On that note, Calzaghe TKO 10 Hopkins in 2008.:yep

Calzaghe has an open March date. I know Miranda would jump at the chance to fight him and fly his ass to do it Calzaghe's backyard. Most of you think Miranda wouldn't have a chance, but you know damn well he would make it a very exciting fight, win or lose. Plus, after the shot he blew by not being ready for Pavlik, you know he would bust his ass in training camp and try to pull off the upset. Would be a great, exciting fight.
