That’s not how boxing works. These top level fighters have several members on their team, Derrick just handles the training, Ryan 100% has a supplement/nutrition person.

 

If this was Spence I would agree, but Ryan or Joshua are the type to jump around trainers and def have several members on their team. Derrick wasn't running the show with either of them.

 

Both Charlos refused to take a drug test one day and that was just glossed over by most fans. Prolly both PED cheats

 

It depends on the fighter and trainers relationship. Most fighters aren't with the same trainer their whole career. If it was Bud and BoMac or Canelo and Reynoso I would agree.

 

Well that's my point after losing did he switch trainers and possibly bring in somebody who would help get them to the next level by cheating

 

What like the testers showed up and were turned away? I don't remember that happening but that's extremely controversial

Guys like Garcia, Wilder, Ruiz don't listen to the trainer. They tell the trainer how things will run. The only thing they want from the trainer is ring time. If you think these guys don't run the camp and it is the trainer, you are delusional. That is why they always have yes man trainers. I also dont blame the trainer. Percentage of the purse from these big name fighters are life changing money.

 

Um this article talks about the event but doesnt give details. IIRC VADA showed up to their home/gym and the Charlos werent there and simply refused to meet up that day.
