    kessler early in his career weighed 3.5 pounds over the welterweight limit. how crazy is that?

    and early on his career he was a junior middleweight for a while.


    i never noticed this fact about him, and while i realise fighters when young tend to start at lower weights, when you look at it like that, he was almost a welterweight :lol:

    it's more amazing given that he seems to be one of the biggest super middleweights going around at the moment. so it's quite a growth process he went through!

    but his legs still look like chopsticks :lol:

    one thing is for sure. kessler will make weight easier this weekend compared to calzaghe :rofl

    Nice facts

    Think he was only 18 when he started as a pro, so it's quite natural that he grows as he trains more intensively, as he quit his dayjob.

    Other trivia:

    -Kessler had to get dispention from the Ministry of justice in order to fight as a pro at age 19. You normally has to be 21 in Denmark.

    -Kessler was a intern at Mercedes as a mecanic, but never finished.

    -Kesslers dad is a former sailor and pub owner

    -Kesslers mum and brother are English, his mum is from Salisbury:

    -Kessler own a Yamaha YZF r1 motorcycle, and Palle aint to happy about that!

    Kessler is ambidexterous
    Kesslers next motorcycle will be a Suzuki 1000 GXSR
    Kessler got his first tatoo at 14, with his name in italic(its now nearly gone due to the tribal tatoos)

    -Kessler started boxing at age 13, he won the European Junior championship at age 16.
    he won 44 out of 47 bouts before turning pro.

    -Kesslers trainer Richard Olsen have been along all from the beginning, training out of CIK: http://www.cik-boksning.dk/

    -Kessler won the two biggest sports awards in Denmark in 2006.

    -Kessler won Man of the year from Frankly Magazine in 2007, it is a magazine for gay men, and that might turn Blocky into a Kessler nuthugger instead.

    -Kessler have been called Hitman, simply the best, and Viking warrior. He prefers Viking warrior.

    He started boxing at 13, and had 47 matches, whereas he lost 3. He also became european champ.
    He looked up to Frank Olsen, who lost eventually to Baldomir by a fluke KO. Frank is Kesslers trainers son.
