interesting vid comparing modern and oldskool boxing

    Came across an interesting little video on 1940's prizefighter Charley Burley. The vid compares the modern stance and style of boxer with that of predecessors. It goes into depth into the difference in stance and head position etc. What do you all make of this, do you think that old skool boxers of the past can teach of young guns a thing or two about proper application of boxing technique?

    Great videos of Burley and Charles

    Nowadays people stand more in face with their opponent rather than have their head off center, i remember a trainer telling me "Its because your right hand doesnt have to travel as far" Thats a more modern way of thinking...

    Defensively in the 30s,40s, etc... Those guys were superior than what we see today.

    What do you think of Andre Ward? He looks like the next elite Slick Black American. Sexy Sergio and Nonito "fight Black" also.

    I like Andre, before the tournament he was showing some "black" skills until his recent italian american performances. He will fight black against Abraham this weekend

    Donaire is a great shout. Sergio is a new breed of african american,the hands down slickster like RJJ, not oldschool by any means
