Interesting. Was Povetkin-Klitschko just a repeat of Tyson-Lewis

Carboncopy. The Manny Steward way of defeating a shorter opponent. Tie him up and lean on him.

Tyson has the shortest prime in athletic history. He beat absolutely no one until he got KTFO by a fat, tomato can in Buster Douglas.

LOL. Manny once credited Wlad with having the greatest range of attacking options he'd ever seen in a HW - I wonder where he hid them all?

(It ain't that I dislike Wlad but ..damn, does he know how to kill a fight!)

Povetkin wasn't shot to ****, recently suspensed for drug use, and three years removed from his last decent performance?

Manny Steward himself mentions this on the HBO documentary after the fighter
    he says
'Word on the street was, people were saying Tyson was too much of a dog for Lennox. People were foolishly believing that Mike Tyson was what he was 15 years ago'

After a slow comeback from the ear biting layoff, Tyson looked to be returning to form in 2000 against Golota, he was moving well and looked really sharp, but than he got hit with another suspension after failing the drug test(pot I believe), and just never found it again.

He looked bad against Nielsen after the year off, and for the first time in his career couldn't maintain his conditioning as he started regularly tipping the scales over 230. The WBC and the Ring still shot him to the top of the rankings for no reason, and the powers that be got their Lewis vs Tyson money match.

Say what you will about Povetkin, he was at least the active and rightful #1 contender in the prime of his career. Tyson was just a name. People hated Lewis than, and after the Rahman loss looked vuldnerable despite getting his win back. People were hoping Tyson could find some old magic, wasn't the case.

Tyson said he needed more time to get back in shape after the Nielson fight but Lewis threatening to retire and Tyson didnt want to miss the potential payday because he needed the money

The Buster Douglas that beat Mike Tyson was a masterful boxer.
