What does doping in athletics have to do with professional boxing?

You could say that about any regions professional boxing athletes though, drug testing in boxing is a fairly recent thing :-(

Except Russia's track and field athletes are under fire, not its amateur boxing stars.

No, it's their whole amateur program and it goes all the way to the top. This makes all their amateurs even pros suspect. Did you miss the part about the police intimidating the accredited labs and its people?

The best PEDS money can buy are made in Russia.:yep This isn't a good look they might not even have a track and field team for Rio in 2016. We need more random testing in boxing today.

This thread is clutching at straws. We all know that a lot of Russians and Americans are steroid users. They have been for years.

That is the word "suspect." There is no evidence any of their top ranked stars are doping, but considering how DOPED up the sport of boxing is, I really would not be surprised if their amateur boxing stars were roiding as well. You still have to give people the benefit of the doubt, or be a spastic and expect every single belt holder to be juicing. This entire conundrum started with Russia's track and field stars, the most juiced up sport in the world.

Sure it would be we aren't against random testing. More testing is better. Most Russian fighters don't do random testing.

It's doubtful they will make it to Rio.
