International Boxing Hall of Fame 2013 ballot

Gushiken, Curry, Zapata and Kingpetch are all overdue.

I think Hamed and Michalczewski should be inducted at some point, but there are a few names in front of them.

Oscar and Tito are no-brainers.

Calzaghe in all likelihood is a first-balloter, but 2014 is a stacked class and you never know how the voting will go.

Given 10 eligible choices, and ignoring whether they are actually on the ballot or not, I'd pick:

Calzaghe
Curry
Kingpetch
Booker
Marcel
Michalczewski
Zapata
Gushiken

Hamed and Herrera would be the next names if I was going upto 12. It's a very difficult choice once you get past the obvious ones, and there isn't a lot in it.

 

The lack of a career-defining win hurts Hamed's legacy.

Regardless of what you think of the guy, Michalczewski beat up Hall of Famer Hill who was coming off his career best win, and has wins over Rocchigiani, Griffin, and several solid fighters in a decade-long unbeaten stretch at world class level.

I'm not a fan by any stretch, and some of his competition was awful, but looking at it objectively it is a HOF resume.

 

He did and he unified 3 titles in the process.

DM wont be 1st ballot but he should definetly get in.

 

Marcel and Rafael Herrera both warrant induction sooner rather than later. On the list, I'd say DLH and Trinidad are locks to get in.

 

Yeah, those are the only three that merit induction as I see it.:yep
