This is for the badasses and legit and established tough guys who fought long/hard/tough resumes against consistently world-class opposition at the least. Because of their testicular fortitude and willingness/desire/drive to bang it out consistently with the best that's out there - understandably their career took more than a few "L's" which prohibits them from the much more glamorous IBHOF, but instead reserves them a seat here, a seat where we all understand they had some losses over the years, but no amount of losses can take our respect and admiration from guys like this. It's guys like this that make HOF'ers secretly want to be part of the club. Sorry pal, to get into the hall of realness no politics or diva bull ****, you earn every inch of your way into your seat. This should be a class and grouping of fighters judged, reviewed, and respected on their merits, intangibles, drive, dedication, resilience, and toughness. View and judge these fighters in their own individual right and leave the racial or geographical trash at the door. These warriors transcend girlie dog **** like prejudice and bigotry. The thread asking if Glenn Johnson should be in the HOF got me thinking about this. No he shouldn't but he should proudly and preferably take his seat in this house in which he is a pioneer of it all. Who are your mentions?
Nigel Benn had a great career, just shy of the HOF standard but a nation was electrified by his ferocity and bravery. Like too many he boxed on too long and we saw once the fire was out that he could no longer cover his flaws. A great ride whilst it lasted though. A contender for entry in future years is Ted Cheeseman. He's not likely to trouble the HOF but the man is gutsier than his medical team would probably like.
Dereck Chisora He's fought Vitali Klitschko, Tyson Fury x 2, David Haye, Dillian Whyte x 2, Kubrat Pulev, Robert Helenius, Agit Kabayel, Carlos Takam, David Price, Danny Williams, Artur Szpilka, Malik Scott, Kevin Johnson, Sam Sexton x 2
Maidana is a guy with a handful of losses who is better known for his fights than his wins. Probably not a HOF lock.
Marco Huck will probably just fall short but but he's been a ****ing warrior. Successful. long reigning and always exciting to watch. He's fought Oleksandr Usyk, Denis Lebedev, Mairis Breidis, Alexander Povetkin, Krysztof Glowacki, Steve Cunningham, Ola Afolabi x 3, Hugo Hernon Garay, Firat Arslan x 2, Victor Emilio Ramirez, Dmytro Kucher
Are we including "journeyman" (hate to use that term) who don't have a good W-L column against top opposition but still have a stacked resume? If so Darnell Boone.
If Barry McGuigan is the Glenn Johnson deserves to be as do the like of Lloyd Honeyghan and Marlon Starling.
