    Guys like Emmanuel Augustus should be there. He was the epitomy of a FIGHTER. I heard someone ask him "How long do you need before you can fight again" ? He said " Just give me the time to get there & pay me cash " lol Take away the robberies, home town decisions & officials marking him down because of his clowning things would have been so different. He never took himself seriously & he had no team to support him
    No boxer that has been proven to abuse PEd's should ever be inducted in my opinion

    In Australia for some of our football codes, we have the hall of fame as well as higher categories for the best of the best, such as "immortals" and "legends",which could easily work for boxing also.

    This is a great thread! Three that jump out to me are Ike Ike Quartey, Vassily Jirov and Jorge Castro. None of these guys are going to get in but all three were genuine bad asses that always fought hard but just don't have enough big wins to get to the hall.

    237 total fights, fought just about anyone out of his hometown, competed against 42 boxers who were world ranked, 16 world champions, 6 International Boxing Hall of Fame members, in 19 countries and 4 continents. Fought guys such as Jose Napoles 2X, Ken Buchanan, Wilfred Benetiz, Estaban Dejesus, Ismael Laguna and Roberto Duran. Went the distance with all of them. Only stopped 3 times on cuts and knocked down twice.
