[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qwxoa8paVns[/ame] mad respect for smitty. unlike other kiss ass reporters he plainly told rios face to face (1:27 mark). I FELT YOU LOST THE FIGHT. :good
Yeah smitty was honest and it looked like Brandon was going to break down for a second there. Poor kid, the criticism is breaking him down. That fight was a wake up call, he better take his career more serious, focus and discipline himself in training. He needs to start learning and employing better defensive tactics. I heard Beltran (Marquez manager) is not interested in a Rios fight, and want Juan Manuel to face a southpaw to better prepare for the 4th Pac fight. So with that being off the table, what other big fight is out there for Rios? Ortiz at 147 would draw much attention and they can really hype that up. But Rios would need a tune up first in my opinion.
I dont get rios and garcia, they complain because abril was holding.... yet did nothing to stop it. ... what kinda trainer send out his fighter to do the same round after round if it not working? if rios felt he was being grabbed so much why didnt he do something different... take a step back... or to the side... feint... from a rios fan i say him and garcia are overrated
Ortiz would hulk smash Rios at 147. If they make this fight, he's cashing out because there's no way he can win.
Garcia was asking Brandon to do different things in there. He was asking for jabs, for headmovement, feints, it was Rios who couldn't implement it. See that's what seperate the elite from the average tough guys, the elite will adapt and do different things and overcome any and every style.
the same way you're commenting without even knowing ****...... robert gave some great advice, it was brandon who couldn't capitalize on it.....
To be fair, I think Rios can make small adjustments, and the weight did affect him. I'm not 100% sure he'd beat Abril in a rematch at a more comfortable weight, but he didn't walk down Acosta simply by toughing it out and waiting for him to tire, he cut off the exits, found places for his punches, and has uses a good jab when he wants it to work for him.
all i heard garcia said was to throw uppercuts. nothing more. i gotta go back and re watch it with out my kids being around this time
