Intimidation: How much can it help you in a boxing match?

    Great watch... so called tough guy steps into a ring and calls out for challengers. He walks around trying to act intimidating, pea-cocking, the whole nine yards... and well watch the outcome! lol

    This guy TRIED and failed hard!

    Who was the best boxer to use intimidation as a tactic? Tyson comes to mind... lets hear some of yours... show examples if possible! What professional boxers have tried and failed?

    I think it depends on the opponent sum fighters can be rattled,however others cum from a tough enough background that nothing scares them....they just cant wait to punch your head in:bbb

    so id say its 50/50

    Tommy Hearns's staredown was pretty damn intimidating, and i would say it worked well.

    if you can get the other guy to try to survive instead of trying to win, that's when intimidation works.

    It won't help if the fighter doesn't look that intimidating...

    whats intimidating is fighting Dela Hoya and suddenly you remember him on his fishnet scandal.... now that would take out your gameplan and try to get far away from him.

    Tyson? sheesh, it would just put more fire on you when he tries to intimidate you. Unless you get scared, remembered how many boxer went down on his punches and peed on your shorts.
