I live in Ireland but what is the deal with all the defence on Willie? He's a sound guy and an exciting fighter, but he's not exactly 'good'. Someone with a good style and good boxing IQ will usually beat him. He just goes in like a mad man and until Rig, managed to bully or just catch offguard all of his decent opponants. His first big step up against an intelligent and skilled boxer and he got demolished quickly. Bernard Dunn would have made the later rounds with Rig and he's hardly a superstar himself.

McCloskey will do decent but this is too soon for him. Khan is going to hit him with many many shots throughout the fight and I don't think it'll go the distance. I also have a feeling it could be a Khan round 1, but that's depeding on a wreckless Khan which he hassent been for quite a while.

As much as I like Bernard Dunne, there is no way he gets past 4 rounds with Rigondeaux.

It was a fantastic performance by Rigondeaux and if you went on that fight alone its understandable to think that Dunne-Rigondeaux wouldn't last long but I really think that Dunne would have given him a decent scrap

Rigondeaux struggled to damage Cordoba while Dunne did not. Rig really establoshed his power against Casey but Casey thinks defending is for pussies lol. Dunne proves alot of heart and that he can get up and last on when he faught Cordoba, so while I think undoubtabley Rig would win, I think Dunne would have took it to 6-8.

i dont see paul giving khan much trouble. and leave casey alone lol, he's a brave fighter and a good guy, just was completely outmatched and the wrong style for one of the most skilled boxers ever, nothing to be ashamed of imo

It definently could, but I'd just think Rig wouldn't be quite as impressive as he was Vs Casey. He was quite boring and not as strong against Cord and Dunne has a better defence than Cord, so I just imagine it being a work down type of fight with Rig still getting the KO.

As much as I like Bernard, I've been a massive Cordoba fan for years and I do think he underestimated Dunne a bit, hence he got dragged into a fight he never would have otherwise. Even when you look at him in his fights with the likes of Poonsawat and Sydorenko who pressure more than Dunne, he didn't get involved and stuck to his boxing, and in my opinion won those fights. In saying that, I would never take anything away from Dunne when it comes from that victory, it was him who forced Maestrito to make those mistakes, which he deserves an awful lot of credit for. Cordoba is a excellent fighter, and Dunne's win against him tends to get underrated even by Irishmen.

I'd agree with you about him being able to take Rigo a few rounds, on the premise that he fights a cautious fight. The thing is, if he were to take El Chacal into the later rounds, he'd probably lose every round along the way, whereas if he took risks, such is his punch resistance, he'd be swept away relatively quickly.

I do take issue with this statement though. I think Cordoba's defence is quite a bit better than Dunne's. Ricardo is very hard to hit, and only really gets caught cleanly when he gasses out, when his movement of head and feet is in full flow it's brilliant, while Dunne can always be accused of carrying that left hand far too low and leaving himself wide open when he attacks.

cordoba and rigo was a bad clash of styles two southpaw counterpunchers which led to a boring fight it happens in boxin sometimes . anyone who thinks dunne would last more than 3 rounds with rigo is deluded
