Don't ruin a rare-general-George-Crowcroft thread with that negativity!

Tough choice but leaning towards Ioka for this one.

Great match up, should be a good one! Hopefully the winner at least takes a shot at Estrada, Chocolatito or SSR.

Going for ioka here. Tanaka can be very inconsistent at times

I think Tanaka has physically peaked at 112 or even 108. Luckily for him Ioka ain't Nonito-sized either, but Kosei also lacks the physical strength to push such a great boxer around as Kazuto, especially moving up. Ioka 116-112 in a high energy chess match.

P.S. is this the greatest all-Japanese match-up of all-times? Unbeaten 3-division top champ moving up vs. 4-division reigning champ? This is Pacquiao-Barrera level sh!t.

Legendary fight, biggest in Japan's history by far.

Don't want to get ahead of myself, I haven't settled on a winner for the first. This is a real pick em for me, I love both fighters. Ioka has good movement and countering which has been shown to bother Tanaka in his performance against La Bomba Gonzalez who put him down (but got his body destroyed in return) so I'll favour Kazuto minimally. Kosei could turn up the heat and make it an inside scrap where he excels it seems. Both have great combos so I hope for a back and forth affair. It's hard to pick, both have strengths that target each other's weaker aspects and both share many of the same strengths too.
