Definitely not. Oscar vs. Pacquiao capped out at 1.25 mil. Pacquiao won't top that number with anyone not named Mayweather.
The problem was Schaefer set the bar too high. He should have been more realistic. 1.1 or 1.2 is a good number and it it is comparable to Cotto-Pacquiao. If anything this will help the Pac-May fight agree to a 50/50 split. I guess it shows that Cotto is a bigger draw then Mosley. Mosley while popular was never a huge attraction.
Impressive. Anything over 1 mil is impressive. That a fighter with Floyd's style can draw those #'s is incredible. Since the Gatti fight, Floyd has been masterful in stamping out apathy. The buzz he creates pre-fight has more to do with those #'s than anything he's done in the ring.
Why does Iole repeat over and over in his Twitter that it's a source and not official. Ok, say it once or twice so that it's clear that it's not official, but by putting it in damn near every tweet makes it seem that he isn't all that confident in the source.
Completely different circumstance. Oscar was getting ready to retire, and Pac was not nearly the star he is now. Most didn't even give him a chance and were mad at Oscar for making the fight and 'being a bully'. Today Pac-Mosley likely would exceed 1.25 million or at least be somewhere around that.
