Roy Jones has always had horrible taste in everything. His house and cars were always wack. I dont think he lives that high anymore.
Pretty sad. But then nothing is really secure in life, but hopefully fighters can learn from others mistakes. Just being able to pay the bills and have acouple of decent rides and a decent place to live is a good thing nowadays. A good accountant is a must to help successful people look out for their future to prevent situations like this from happening.
I understand what your saying and agree with a lot of it, although I dont blame him for feeling like he was as good as those guys. Im sure he truly believes that he Beat the best Hearns and he probably believes he beat the best Duran also. Thats to be expected. Youll never hear Joe Calzaghe say well a prime Jones would have beaten me and was better than be..by thats all beside the point. I think Irans situiation is unfortunate and could have been prevented with the right guidance and resources years ago. Of course he is in part to blame for blowing all his money, but when you come from nothing and become rich seemingly overnight, money has a way of not sticking around.
I remember reading about an interviewer talking about the time he was interviewing Larry Holmes, during his comeback period. He was on the phone shouting at his money manager and demanding to know why his funds weren't appreciating the rate he was told. Apparently, Larry Holmes checks his investments and businesses every day like a hawk. As far as I know, Larry Holmes isn't a Finance major university graduate but he seems to be quite sharp when it comes to money matters.
