Not Iran's best fighting weight for sure but his opponent may play straight in to his hands /gloves.? Can the fighter from down under defeat the Blade at his own game?
Would be a good battle I think. Both liked to get in there and wouldn't be hesitant. Harding got kod by an ancient Dennis Andries but I don't think Iran has the power here. Sayin that, we could see Jeff on the floor first, he hadn't lost all his strength but Harding battles back for a stoppage.
Jeff Harding was indeed a strong, hard hitting and mentally tough light heavyweight. I’ll never forget his trilogy with Dennis Andries. The first fight especially was gut wrenching. Jeff came back from a hellacious beating to stop Dennis in the 12th. Harding retired with a rather thin resume but his grit spoke for itself. Iran Barkley blew hot and cold. In the late 80s he beat Tommy Hearns and gave Michael Nunn and an aged Roberto Duran all they could handle. He wasn’t a natural light heavy like Harding but he did win some fights at 175 and even above 200 ( albeit against weak opposition. ) He was another guy who could punch, take a punch and was mentally tough. my first inclination is to pick Harding for being the bigger man naturally. But Jeff was beaten by TWO men who were in their late 30s and one of whom a former junior middle. Also as mentioned, Iran did prove that he could fight a little at the higher weights... Unclear as to who takes it assuming they’re both well prepared. But a great fight this might be.
