I'd favor Garcia's quicker, more precise punching, superior chin, and better inside technique to carry the day for him.

    Garcia by mid-round stoppage.

It's a tough one...But I can see Garcia getting off quicker. For that reason I'd have to say Garcia too...

Where was Apostoli in his career when Garcia stopped him?

Going by the records it looks like a very impressive stoppage. Considering the fighters that Apostoli had fought. On a sidenote, I think it underlines how great Henry Armstrong really was. I wonder how Garcia would have matched up against the body punching killer, Tony Zale?

Apostoli was at the height of his career and considered by many to be the top MW in the world. He'd already unified the NY and Cali versions of the title, and was eying a possible fight with NBA champ Al Hostak that would've fully unified the title.

Ceferino Garcia, originator,of the Bolo Punch, was a large 147 lb welter when he fought Henry Armstrong, to a draw in 1940....Incidentally, I saw A past prime Armstrong, easily beaten by Ray Robinson,MSG, in 1943.....At equal weights Garcia, would whip Iran Barkley.... So much more seasoned was Ceferino....
