Two completely shot fighters. One on the comeback and another from a lower weight class. it’s sad that these guys needed to take a fight like this ( if money was still a necessity )
Worst part is how long Barkley continued after this, picking up loss after loss after nothing but a name on prospects records. At least Gerrie got the memo and retired after a brief comeback while Iran would soldier on for years more.
I saw an interview with Barkley a number of years ago. I could barely understand anything he was saying
Hearns/Iran 2 is one of the most brutal matches of that decade. They beat the living **** out of one another.

I'm surprised Hearns had any kind of career at the top level after that one. Hearn's was a threat all the way up to cruiserweight, though clearly there was a point of diminishing returns. Makes me wonder what someone like McClellan could have accomplished if he cut less weight and came in around cruiser.
