Now I would pick Barkley! Prior to fighting Calzaghe I would have picked Jeff.

In reality this would be a tough fight, and Lacey would probably fare better against a Barkley type slugger. I still lean towards a Barkley decision

Barkley would beat Lacy up. Lacy was all hype. He had almost zero quality wins before getting embarrassed by Calzaghe. Come to think of it, Lacy had no quality wins after Calzaghe either.

Barkley did far better beating Hearns at 175 than Lacy would of, Hearns would have outboxed Lacy easily in `91 at 168-175, Barley nevergave a performance as dire as Lcy`s v Calzaghe in his prime, Duran would have destroyed Lacy even at the age of 39, I don`t know about him weighing 168 and being fast enough to box how he did v Barkley but that fight proved Barkley was a league above Lacy.

Can you Imagine Duran beating Lacey for the IBF world title . I could...that would be 5 weight divisions

I can imagine it too and think Duran could have pulled it off. Except for the monumental difference in size Lacy was tailor-made for Duran.

Jeff "Left-Hook" Lacey was a strong, game fighter with a fine left-hook, but he had little in the way of skills and was far too easy to hit. His weaknesses became readily apparent when fighting Joe Calzaghe. While facing Calzaghe, Lacey was taking such a bad beating that I wondered why his corner didn't do anything to get the bout stopped. I would favor Iran Barkley over such a limited fighter like Lacey.

Barkley wins. Lacy was a tough and durable fighter with an excellent left hook, no disrespect.

Duran would have been a bit too savy and slick for Jeff.
