Ireland's trade split over Casey-Hyland

Obviously it's gonna be of less interest to British fans as it's not that big a fight. In Ireland I'm sure the fights huge as it's probably the best two Irish super bantamweights going at it for a European title. I'm interested in the fight though because I like Casey's style and agree that the atmosphere should be a good one.

On the Irish thread how much are they talking about Rees vs Watson, which is a better level fight.

Very hard to call this one. Casey was in training for a fight with Martinez and presumably he was conditioned for an all out war but I'm assuming that they've now also prepared him for 12 rounds of boxing. Listening to Casey he seems to be certain that the 'big bang' will land at some stage in the fight, while he could be right it seems to be dangerous to rely on. If Casey gets a knock out I think it will be very early. If Hyland can weather an early storm and pick off points I can see him getting better as the fight goes on. If Hyland is ahead on points going into round 7 or 8 I can see Casey starting to get desperate, abandon caution and go for a knock out.

Both guys are extremely confident for this one. Go onto youtube and have a look at their joint interview on The Saturday Nightshow last week- great television, the interview was good as any joint interviews that Benn and Eubank gave in the 90s and Ali and Frazer gave in the 70s.

 

Casey will take this, but I want Hyland to win. He's probably a better boxer, but he lacks the power to stop Casey coming at him

I fancy Casey but more because I don't rate Hyland. He doesn't have the power to keep him off. He looks confident though. Both do.

 

I can honestly say that without one little bit of doubt in my mind I would beat them both. No question!!! Put the two of them in with me as a tag team and they have a slightly better chance. Haha. In all seriousness tho I know would beat them both

Its not a British fight, so why would all the British fans be that interested? I am interested in the outcome but I can understand why other people wouldn't be
