He also jumps the ropes and sells tickets :deal Its a shame some of the lads who can "box" cant sell tickets like prunty or we might have a few more shows down here The boy is learning his trade at the moment which is more than can be said for alot of people out there I'm not having a go at anyone just stating theres room in Irish Boxing for all levels of competition look at jedward those ****ers cant sing or dance but their opening in croke park for westlife for **** sake!
Yaass!! Thats Sligo and Antrim - and I call calling all counties along the western seaboard out i the name of Maher and he is also representing all Irish emigrants across the world as well!!
The only way this fight will get made is if Prunty sells Maher's allocation of tickets for him! :deal Probability of fight being made: HIGH I'm looking forward to this article of yours
I agree It would be a good test for him and Mock would definately take him the distance and its well within Brian's ability to win.
the fight i saw him there was only about 10 people there cheering him on and by the end of his fight they ran out the door
:rofl:rofl you got me I may have stretched the truth on pruntys ticket selling abilities for comedic purposes but he does jump the top rope! also a fight with him and Maher would be a good undercard fight for the future :deal
exact same thing happened to me with an exclusive with Ponsawat- I meet the man at the airport got qoutes and saw them in nationals the next week???? Was told to take it as a compliment!!!!
Whoever told you that should have been told to stick it up his arse. A compliment my bollocks. You try plagarising their work and see what happens
I had a piece with frampton in the Mirror- the same day- he was easy to contact. Unless Gerry just thought he'd get the same qoutes so he'd save time. He did write Barry's auto bio so they must be close too!!!! In fairness to Gerry he has kept us informed about boxing for years and he knows his stuf
I reckon what happens is they think all these things are said at press conferences hence qoutes are fair game. ( I met poonsawat in Thailand airport could well have had a pres conference-although he didnt) As in they could have been there too...but id say carl must have been delighted with the coverage anyway! No point in bitching about it- people will eventually cop on to who is doing the hard work and getting the good stories...
I like prunty, he's different, a bit of clown, slightly "spice" but different to everyone else in the stadium the night I saw him. Did he fight anyone that can hit him back yet? The night I saw him he was fightin a foreign lad they must have pulled from the local spar an hour before the fight, gave him 20 quid and told him he was a boxer.
Highlights the point precisely. Press conferences are fair game. One on one interviews are not. However, they never bother to differentiate. I'm sure Carl was delighted anyway. Unfortunately people don't cop on to who writes quality and who writes shite. The 1% of the population who are hardcore fans might be able to tell the difference. The other 99% just believe whatever shite they get served up. And that is a fact
