Agree with you Cormac I think any promotion of young Irish boxers is great. Its a credit to yourself you aren't looking at it from the angle of a freelancers. However, having worked in that game, I think the general point still stands. Anyway, McCloskey - Lauri. I'm a big fan and of course I'll want to see the fight but it doesn't exactly set the pulse racing!
I try to get the Irish News when ever I can the local shop gets like 2 copies in so its pot luck if i get it or not
its good on tuesdays:yep.... other than that ...its an SDLP rag:rofl... but enough of the politics:smooch.... the irish news is top class for boxing and they give extensive coverage 2 the sport here in the north:good
I can't go back till it's pitch black..........just incase the tv license inspector is around, I don't think I could live with the shame !
Not a bad fight for experience, keeping active and cementing a ranking, quite right Patrick. But as a spectacle...oh dear......Lauri is horrible to watch. You won't be travelling up from Dublin for it anyway I wouldn't have thought :-(
I know there does be people travelling down from Belfast on a bus for any of the Dunne fights in the o2. With McCloskey fighting up in the Kings Hall for his next fight is there any buses going from Dublin to the fight and back again? I know nothing has been comfirmed but wouldn't mind heading up to watch this fight but couldn't afford to stay overnight.
I know you're asking about a bus specifically to the fight and back but if you didn't mind a little more travelling there's the bus from Busaras to Europa bus depot in Belfast. A bus leaves both cities on the hour, 24 hours a day. It would cost you just over 20 euro for a return ticket (it's just under 20 quid sterling). A taxi to and from the Kings hall wouldn't be too dear, especially if you were sharing. It's only 3-4 miles away. Just another option to consider.
If your missus would let me sleep on your couch i might head up if Carlos is on the undercard! who knows i might be lucky enough to get an interview and if I'm REALLY lucky Gerry Callan will steal my quotes :deal
I actually did it the wrong way round-not the way my facebook page would suggest- i contacted the wba then they gave me a hacks number i rang him he gave me an email adress to poon's manager and he was only too delighted to talk!!! Meeting him over there then was handy too.
Any idea where a venue for Barrett/Rogan would be Paddy? I'm assuming it would be in Dublin but wonder if Rogan's drawing power in Belfast would factor in.
