Well none of us are getting any younger, but spare a thought about an aul boy like myself, who can remember the expectation a young Barry McGuigan caused when he was about to have his first pro fight, or even a lot earlier than that when Ali slew Foreman. You don't feel so old now, do you.:D

 you're right lads. Its lucky I only feel old now. I don't know what i'll do when I actually am old like the rest of you :good

I guess the weird thing for me is he was/is the first boxer I've followed all the way through his entire career. He went from being the bright young prospect to now being retired in the blink of an eye! Ah sure it was some craic along the way.

The best thing about it all is that we have so many great up and coming boxers on top of some established boxers all ready to go. It would have been a massive downer if Dunne had retired and that was basically the end of a) top level Irish boxers and b) boxing shows being run around the country.

But we have both now. The only question is who will be the next Irish world champion :huh

Paddy is going to say Prunty anyway, I know that much. Slappy goes Maher.

I think I'll play it safe and go with McCloskey.

Paulie Hyland was asked to fight on this bill too,
But Paulie has his EBU-EU Title fight on the 12th of march

The show is been promoted by Brian Burke, Paulie was over for a while with Brian and got alot of training done there under Tracey Patterson.

I NEVER said Prunty would win a world title!

he will pick up an Irish strap by being the first man to stop Maher though!

Any time ive ever met Brian it was always an honour to talk to him...
All the time in the world for him and everyone can rest assured that Stephen Haughian is in very good hands over there
