No all ties are cut and Lindsay is free.

On a side note I see Pat Magee is suing Booth of Haymeaker over alleged fees owed to Brian Magee, back from the Quigley-Smith-Magee British title scenario.

Can't see the 5/1 on Sinky that has been mentioned...?
Best I have found after the draw was made is 4/1 with SkyBet. Boylesports are 7/2 with Paddy Power & William Hill offering 10/3.

    I also like a Sinky-Butler final at 10/1.....http://www.skybet.com/skybet?action=GoEvType&id=10004155

A load of new bits and bobs up on irish-boxing. Excuse the missing pics on the homepage. Bit of a glitch when updating our photo database. Will get it fixed later this evening. Also if you click the IABA logo on the homepage it will take you directly to the IABA newsfeed.

that atmosphere at Lindsay Appleby was something else!

I went the staduim the weekend-in a non hack capacity and it was 15 yoyo in Fri and Saturday!!! what a rip. Having the finals over two nights is also the most ridicolous thing since conlons article!!!!

    Chasing Europe
22 February 2010 - By Steve Wellings By his own admission Patrick Hyland took a few rounds to get going against tough Londoner Mickey Coveney on February 13. Regardless, the Tallaght man remains hot property on the Irish scene and as his rankings improve the unbeaten featherweight could soon find himself staring across the ring at a European champion.
“I’m game for any featherweight in Europe. I’d like a European title shot by the end of the year but I’ll keep working hard in the meantime by staying active,” said the 26-year-old.
“To make the big fights both lads will want to be well paid so you’d ideally want at least a European on the line,” added Brian Peters. “Eddie Hyland has been sparring [European champion] Oleg Yefimovich who’s a very good fighter. Oleg could be a possibility for Patrick but there are loads of things going on at the moment so we’ll see what develops.”
If things go to plan Patrick may end up meeting a man who is all too familiar to the Dublin fight fraternity. Spaniard Kiko Martinez’s name is firmly in the mix.
“I’d love a fight with Kiko Martinez and I’d make sure and keep my hands right up to my chin!” Joked Patrick, referring to the frequency with which Coveney caught him on the night and indeed Martinez’s trademark power.
“I see Kiko purely as a big puncher, dangerous for a couple of rounds but like most big punchers they don’t like to take it back. They like to bully opponents but I can punch hard too and I’ve sparred Kiko so I’m aware of his power.”
While Martinez may have lost twice to Rendall Munroe and once in an IBF title eliminator to Takalani Ndlovu it is not difficult to recognize that this is a fighter who has only tasted defeat at the top level of his profession.
“Kiko’s a name fighter and he’s only lost to the better guys in the division like Munroe and Ndlovu,” reasoned Peters.
“They’re quality opponents and a world title eliminator is a serious level, a level Patrick has yet to compete at so a scalp of Kiko would be a great win for him.”

Macklin was with Warren, not Hennessy.
