He said that? Hmm strange one that. I think Ireland will probably be plan B if making him a star across the wrong side of the channel doesn't work.

Personally I think Gavin is going to go on to do big things so if we can get him over here then that would be brilliant.

Where are his parents from anyway?

 

as far as i know his ma is roscommon and his da is from derry ,think thats what he told me when i asked him on facebook a good while back

 

gavin is a class act i think, once his power develops and he matures a bit more physically hes as talented a boxer/counter puncher coming out of the UK and ireland in a long time. we will have to see what his chin is like but if he was on a show here in say 12/24 months time it would increase the likelyhood id buy a ticket.


there needs to be more co-operation from fighters and promoters for shows over here. double headliners for example. putting together a show with brian magee and martin lindsay would be easy to sell in belfast


rogan coleman barrett with say duddy would sell out the kings hall as well

Any news on when Bohs are moving up to Harristown or is that now not going to happen? I live 15 minutes away from were Sporting Fingal play up in Santry been to a couple of there games since there move. Cup winners last year it is only a matter of time before they take the eircom league by storm and win it not this season but give it 2 years time they will be there or abouts.
Quigley is a good signing for Bohs shocked no English club took a chance on him during his time with Pats. How much is Bohs charging for the match do you know.

 

Frankie Gavin fighting in Ireland now I would go to watch that the lad is gifted and out of the 3 he signed he is the best of them. Has taken to pros well and in his fights unlike the others he has been tested by better opponents than the others have been.

I think Tommy Egan is still very interested in a Moore-Sinky title fight, its now a case of seeing what Sinky wants to do with his future. I've put it to him, and he was very excited about the idea of it as a headliner.

Long-Fitz III for the Irish super-middleweight title, Eddie Hyland-***an/O'Hara for super-feather, Sweeney-Waldron for light-heavy.

James Moore v ? at the top of the bill, let's hope its Sinky and the Irish light-middle title.

It's on Setanta, with repeats throughout the week.

He's working with DolPhil and Paddy Hyland on this one. Good spirit of cooperation between them all, which can only bring good things for Irish boxing. Simple answer is - if he sells the place out, and Setanta are happy, there'll be more shows for us all to enjoy.

He was reluctant to go again after the Jamie Moore-Ciaran Healy show, which bombed financially. But this one is in Citywest, local lads fighting, and if there's Northern lads on - their supporters would follow them into hell, they're so loyal. I've a good feeling this time.

No excuses from you, fella, we'll have to share a few pints in April!!! You'll be able to witness Paddy Cronan's legendary networking first hand!

Gavin is a great prospect. Doesnt see himself as Irish in the same way that fellow Brummie Macklin does but is obviously proud of his roots!

I'll go up to the gym and interview him next week.
