Fancy Mc Donagh but mainly because its a 6 rounder Healy will only be getting to grips with his speed and movement and wont have time to slow him down with body shots plus boxrec shows Mc Donagh is a lot bigger than Fitzgerald. Tims Sweeny im still not sure about think Mike has the skills but Tims has the strength. An intriguing matchup and Mike is getting quality sparring whereas i havent heard a peek from Tims (which in itself is unusual) Still fancy Power over Waldron based on the only time iv seen both fight on the same card in Limerick last year (although Waldron does say it was his worst performance so that could be a bad basis) but the limerick crowd does love Power and his balls to the wall style. Andy will ko his guys in 4 or 5 round after a cagey first and second round of long distance measuring but if the guys lands it could all be over very quickly. I expect the cubans to post inside the distance wins after some stubborn resistance and keep the ball rolling onwards and upwards. Barrett to win but i reckon it will be a dull enough points decison early in the card. Murray and Donnellan to win aswell even though we dont know the opponents that usually means their not great and wont be released untill a day or so before the event. Katie Taylor to steal the show just because shes Katie Taylor and the greatest pound for pound boxer we have.:good Im starting to get giddy about it already and plan to be there from the start of boxing.
Sheriff Street's Chris O'Brien is to fight his first 8 rounder this month in Colne. If he comes through that then he qualifies for a pop at the Irish title and will get on a ferry and camp outside Haughians door until he fights him for the ugliest belt in boxin - failing that he'll drive by driving over to Willie Thompsons gaff and look for an eliminator! :good Interestingly there is another welterweight on the bill from Halifax called Patrick Liam Walsh - watch this space!
Great write up and pics again steve good man! Could ya stick them pics on the oul FB for me? I especially like the the 1st 1 where I'm rather sweaty and stirring lovingly at BMcG ;-)
Has belfast broken away from Province and Proper Ireland then? Anyway, I both concur and agree! Nothing like a hot prospect to get everyone singing off the same hymn sheet. Can we get a confirmation of the Framptonator being on the McCloskey card so I can go ahead and buy my ticket
i put it across the top of my 50 yoyo carl frampton to win a world title bookies slip! Just for good luck...i hope they dnt thinks a double!! Carl to win a the strap and unite the religions of the world?? id say you'd get good odds though
