Especially if Lee is going to be stateside. Lee said in many interviews lately that he intends on getting back on to the U.S. scene and will base most of his fights there for a while.

That leaves a big hole in the Limerick boxing scene which Casey can fill. McCullough v Casey would be close to filling the U.L arena. Even if it is a fight that most people would shake their head in disgust at.

 

i agree, alot of people would go to watch it although i dont see the point in mcCollough calling him out, i think casey as a younger and very confident fighter would steamroll him!!!

Yeah Casey would take nothing away from a fight against Mc Cullough,he should be given a nice handy fight next, in front of his home crowd as a well done for winning Prizefighter,then he will have to go looking for one of the Hylands for an Irish crown and if successfull move on from there.
What about Mickey Coveny for his next fight if he smashes him earlier than Hyland then he has some more leverage.

 

I like that jebus. Coveny is a good opponent for him. I reckon Willie bashes his brains in within 3 rounds.

Aye the Jackal beat the fight out of Napa alright. On a related note, how heavy was Jeffries breathing at the end of round 1. I think it might have been a little bit hot in there alright.

met him and his people out at the wildcard in september, there was another guy who also planned on turning pro out there. anyone know who that was and if he got signed up too?

 

Oh yeah no doubt about that. Jeffries punched himself out a bit without working too hard it must be said. He needs to work on that. However, I don't think he's generally that badly condiitioned so I am just guessing that there was probably a bit of excess heat in the arena.

As we all know its harder to work out in the heat. The 10k I run felt more like 15k with the hot weather today so I can imagine how much harder working for 3 minutes a round in excessive heat.

Dunne -v- David Martinez was the hottest fight i was ever at. It was measured at 45c inside the stadium that night. Ferocious heat that night

 

Allright lads for all you boxers out there - amateur or pro (or crap like me) that have brothers or mates who box - a quik question. Have you ever found it hard to box competitively against them? I nearly ended up in the ring with my brother recently and I know he was up for it but I think I would have found it hard to go 100%! I know Moorser did it recently perhaps you can let me know how it felt Moorser? Now don't get me wrong - I've sparred him (the ejit of a brother) recently and we weren't exactly friendly, but I just didn't have the same feeling of determination. I think (and I'm only a novice) boxing any of the lads in my club would be harder then lads from other clubs especially if you get on well with them! Is that weird or is it just me! I mean I don't think I would hold back too much if I have to get in with them in the future would just prefer not to! Also that does not mean I want to hurt any stranger I come up against. I just mean that it feels a little weird to go at it with someone you know well. Of course at the end of the day the ref is there to protect both fighters so that's always worth bearing in mind!

 

Coveney is by no means a cakewalk. He is a lot better than his record suggests. I had him ahead on points before Hyland hurt him and eventually stopped him.

But, on the other hand, if Hyland can stop him, Big Bang definitely can also.

 

Coveny is no bum I grant you but Willie is relentless and I reckon he doesn't give him a chance to settle and literally beats the fight out of him very early on.

 

Coveney was very good against Hyland but I saw him against O'Hara a couple of fights before that and O'hara bullied him for much of the fight. I think Coveney would be tailor made for Casey.

 

I think Covney had a good night against Pajo and that was coupled by Pajo by his own admission having a bit of a stinker.If they fought again and all things equal it wouldnt go past 4 which i believe would be the case if Covney takes on Willie in Limerick.Good shout though Jebus
