I'm probably going to get slated for saying this but I hope Duddy Retires. He gave his fans everything in terms of entertainment and always did his best which I'm sure he will be remembered for. That said, he has taken too much punishment over the past couple of years and I really would worry about the guy's health now at this stage. I hope he has earned enough now to follow his other interests like acting etc or whatever.

Duddy is still a name so even after that defeat he will be in high demand here in the UK and US. There is a number of fights which could happend and if Duddy wins them he could well be back in contention for a World title fight. Lee and Duddy could well happend here in Dublin it would sell out the o2 and for Lee if he wins it it would be a good win to have. Add into the mix even Barker from a UK view Duddy could well be seen as a good tune up fight for Barker to get him up to the next level if he is that good. If Duddy retires so be it he headlined big cards and venues in the US and for Irish fighters not a lot of people can say that.

To be fair, the Mods arent doing it for the craic. I set a forum up on my site about two years ago. It lasted two weeks. The reason? People couldnt help themselves but write libelous stuff. The reality is that ESB are a publisher, if someone on here writes something that breaks the law then ultimately ESB will be the first ones getting a legal letter.
I agree that everyone was in a bind last night because the fight wasnt being broadcast here legally, but ESB arent the bad guy. If they allowed people to post links without clamping down they would be shut down by lawyers by the end of the week.

I didnt see the Duddy fight, but it sounds like he got a hammering off Chavez - very disappointed to hear that. The only fight out there for Duddy that interests me is with Lee. Although there is talk of Duddy-Foreman....

There's been obvious lack of self belief in John Duddys performances in the last few years, and going by reports that pattern continued last night. Chavez can go to better things, but John needs now to look at what's best for him in terms of his long term health. In recent years Duddy and Dunne have both put Irish boxing back on the map and we're all greatful to them for this, but it's maybe time John thought about retirement, although I suspect while Arum is offering lucrative match-ups that won't happen.

You are right Ardy - Duddy has really put Irish boxing on the map - especially in the States. I think he can make two more good paydays and then get out of the sport for good.

I think Duddy willl prob fight again he is a cash cow for Arum he is already talking of Duddy Foreman in Msq he knows Duddy is a draw in NY and he knows Foreman wont sell out there and he needs Duddy, I think its sad but if it goes this way I see Arum basically washing his hands with Duddy and racking up a streak of losses before he sends him into retirement

Duddy v Foreman, then Duddy v Lee. Then retire with healthy bank balance.

By the time Lee would fight him it would nearly be a bad choice for him by that time Duddy will (probably) hav two straight losses and Andy will be seen to be taking an easy fight with Duddy coming off consecutive loses and this would be bad for his rep in America i think he already has a few haters after Verain America and after a Duddy fight he will just be compared to Chavez jr or Foreman
