Howes record doesnt look bad tbf - one (specatular) loss in ten years and only two in 15 years!!!

    Both to "Contender" fighters

charles howe, cant find any footage of him on the web and outside his loss to joey gilbert not much is known about him, interestingly gilbert was tested positive for 'illegal substances' after that first round ko.

he has a record which inspires little resistance and for me he is the epitome of journeyman,we can't really tell if he can take a decent punch and i would say that from his record he can't throw a decent punch, perhaps they are looking to give duddy some rounds to try out a few new things under burns,or perhaps it's irish ropes striking again wrapping duddy up in cotton wool until the ultimate goal is reached.

anyway,we can not expect anything other than a duddy win here and barring injury i would be hoping that we could be looking at duddy fighting again in the summer.please please please becuase these are not the opponents that will inspire bob arum, the general boxing public or duddy's ring experience at all.

We need a good confidence building performance from John. The sort of performance that will show vast improvement in the defence department.Any thing other than that is a pointless exercise.

thats the thing can he not get some good sparring partners to implement this and leave the fighters like howe behind and begin to fight people in the top 30,i mean as you know im probably the biggest duddy fan you'll find but in reality duddy is a top10 middleweight who has never fought someone in the top 20,we really thought he had turned a corner against eastman but has went on to make these fights, howe is not going to show if duddy has improved his defence its only against the better performers we will know that.

Everything said above is true......duddy should not be fighting this guy,he's butter and if john doesnt win by stoppage(which im worried he wont due to his shortage of power lately)it will do nothing to silence the doubters who question his right to even take on pavlik......this makes me pissed of,irish ropes and eddie mcloughlin wrapping him in cotton wool so they can have their big payday against pavlik and watch duddy get embarresed in the ring, which probably will happen as he hasnt fought any top middleweight....i know i dont want that to happen to a boxer and an honourable irishman i admire....

that's a dangerous plan from irish ropes considering duddy's propensity for cuts.

With Duddy, It looks like they just want the big payday and out. I hate to see him have that kind of career. Like everyone here, I'm a huge fan, he sure is great to watch. And I can't blame him for not wanting to keep getting cut like that. Also would like to see him get a big payday, but when irish-ropes keeps him protected, but provides all the hoopla as well, it opens him up for very valid criticism (unfortunately)about getting a title shot from the legion of Duddy haters. Reminds me of how they handled Gerry Cooney. Anyway, I just hate to see him have that kind of career.

I guess they're hoping if he improves his defense he wont get cut.

we can only hope, and indeed pray
