Did Smith and Simpson not double as a final eliminator for Lindsay's title? If so then I'd imagine the british board will order purse bids for that over the next couple of months if Smith and Lindsay don't agree terms. Based on last night I'd fancy Lindsay, too much experience for Smith right now.
well word around the hall last night was that Smith wouldnt be put anywhere near Lindsay - in Simpson won then it would have been more likely. We shall see.
The Link for Sweeney isnt working anymore Heres the interview [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RPWsnGmmk3s[/ame]

http://boxrec.com/show_display.php?show_id=604142 Full card from Belfast show is on BoxRec........ Think its a pretty poor card for TV...... Could do with a couple more fights on it Maybe Kevin O'Hara, Neil Sinclair, or even a warm up 4 or 6 rounder for Rogie

The actor joked around with former boxer Freddie Gilroy at the launch of the Belfast Boxing Ring, a new organisation set up to commemorate masters of the sport, at the City Hall. Mr Gilroy (79), an Olympic medal winner in 1956, was a hero of the young Neeson, and the pair were first pictured together at the height of the sportsman's fame in 1962. The 'A-Team' star was a boxing enthusiast as a young boy growing up in Ballymena and took to the ring himself on many occasions. The Belfast Boxing Ring, of which Mr Neeson is a patron, will be officially launched tonight with the aim of getting statues and plaques put up around the city in memory of the great boxers from Belfast.
What's the craic with Casey? For him to drop out of the Ulster Hall gig without getting the go ahead for the EBU belt seems very strange. It would have been great for him to get some exposure up there as he could very well be fighting Brickfists there at some point in the future. Maybe that was McGuigan's reason for getting him on the bill.
I agree 100%. I said whenever Casey pulled out that O'hara should be added to the card. A 8 rounder and Haughian out on a recovery mission over 6 rounds doesnt set the heart racing. Rogie is still some way off a comeback I thought but Sinclair could have been added. Did he not say a few months ago that he would have a farewell fight in Sept or Oct?
