I thought Kiko looked a lot more rounded on Saturday night. Picking his shots, pacing himself, letting the power come as and when needed. Martirosyan was tough too and fought well.

Casey will need to box and wait patiently for the openings because if he rushes in like a maniac he could get caught or run out of steam mid-fight. Of course Phil Sutcliffe and the team will be fully aware of this.

Then again on the flipside he could KO Kiko, but that will be tough as I don't recall seeing the Spaniard hurt too often (possibly once in the second Munroe fight, late on).

    By Michael Marley
Boxing's week of shame and stupidity came to a sorrowful but blazing finish this week as British tabloid News Of The World had a Page One story plus video of Ricky Hatton knocking himself out with a booze and drug binge.
On the bright side, perhaps the popular Mancunian was angling for a Coke endorsement deal.
In the video, Hatton does his human vacuum cleaner impression, "hoovering" seven lines of Bolivian Maching Powder into his nostrils.
Before Hatton, who earlier this week denied he has retired from the ring, lubricated himself before attending a fighting event.
Hatton oiled up with 11 pints of Guinness (Irish beer), four vodkas, two glasses of wine and capped his alcoholic fest with some Sambuccas.
The tabloid's source on Hatton's escapade is Irish amateur boxer, Emma Bowe, a 29 year old Dublin resident who Hatton seems to have taken a fancy to.
She told the newspaper in the expose that: “I'm only talking about this because Ricky is a danger to himself. If he carries on like this he'll kill himself.
"I'm really, really worried for him, especially if he tries to make a comeback in the ring as he's hinted - he could have a heart attack."
The inhaling of cocaine took place in Bowe’s hotel room in Hatton’s home city.
Hatton, only 31, may have difficulty getting a British Boxing Board of Control license unless he can explain this adventure.
    What a week, eh?
Floyd Mayweather puts shame in his game, British heavyweight pretender David Hayemaker likens his fight with Audley Harrison to “a gang ****” and now Hatton’s been busted by the tabloid snoops.
Earlier this year, a different British tabloid ran a video showing Welsh ring hero Joe Calzaghe discussing his use of cociane.

    Well is a Volentary defense

Paulie has done well to get himself ranked but Casey is the bigger name its as simple as that and it comes down to Bank Notes not many people outside boxing fans know Paulie but alot of casual fans know Willie from Prizefighter

In boxing you dont get what you deserve you get what you negotiate:deal

Yeah I'd agree amazing what a nickname and a Prizefight title can do. Not to mention a hugely exciting style.

Perhaps it was also felt he had a better chance against Kiko, thereby meaning a defence v Paulie.

i obviously dont know but i would think casey got the gig because of his prize fighter win and the fact hes more excitin than paulie even though paulie is a very good fighter he has **** all punchin power and it seems casey has the wind in his sails and is buildin great momentum....
most me mates who arent huge boxing fans know casey from prizefigter not many know paulie

have t say that was the best performance ive seen from kiko besides the dunne fight much more improved from the munroe fight and the dcu fight but i think casey is just a level above him and should do it if he fights the right fight

Willie Big Bang Casey will look to turn Big Bang Theory into
    reality

when he challenges Kiko La Sensacin Martinez for the
Spaniard's European Super Bantamweight title on the Hunky Dorys Fight
Night at the University Sports Arena, Limerick on Saturday, November
    6th.

The unbeaten Casey has enjoyed a meteoric rise through the
professional ranks since turning professional just 2 years and 10
fights ago and the 28-year-old southpaw will be looking to make the
most of home advantage as European Championship boxing comes to
Limerick for the first time ever.

It promises to be a huge event on Shannonside but Martinez famously
broke Irish hearts just over 3 years ago when he needed less than a
round to rip the European title away from Bernard Dunne and he will
be confident of further success on Irish soil after he regained his
European belt with an impressive win over Arsen Martyrosian in Dublin
    over the weekend.

It was Martinez' fourth career win in Dublin with Ireland clearly a
happy hunting ground for the 24-year-old puncher from Alicante.
Munster fan Casey however is hoping that he can transport some of the
Thomond Park atmosphere across the city to the University Arena and
add a European boxing title to the two European rugby cups won by
    Munster in the last decade.

He might be unbeaten in Dublin but he hasn't fought in Limerick
yet, joked Casey. I'll be looking to take some of that Munster
spirit into the ring with me. I'm just so excited about this fight
and to have a chance to win a European title right here in Limerick.
I might be the underdog but I've been an underdog since I turned
professional and I'm sure the whole city will come out to support me.
Not too many gave me a chance when I went out to Canada to fight the
Canadian Champ but I knocked him out. Not too many people gave me a
chance when I went into the Prizefighter but I ended up winning that
    as well.

I know all about Kiko, everyone in Ireland knows about him because
of his win over Bernard Dunne and he is a big hitter but they don't
call me the Big Bang for nothing either. I was at Kiko's fight in
Dublin on Saturday night and he's an excellent fighter but people
haven't seen the best of me yet, I'm still learning and improving in
the gym every day. This is a fantastic opportunity for me and I'm
determined to grab it with both hands.

Casey secured his European title shot by overcoming the European
rated Emiliano Salvini in his last contest and Martinez says he has
no problems returning to Ireland to defend his title. In Ireland
right now there are two good contenders for my title, Casey and Paul
Hyland from Dublin. I am happy to fight either of them anytime,
anywhere because a real champion is always ready to defend his title.
Ireland has been very lucky for me and the people here have always
treated me with great respect. I got great support in Dublin on
Saturday night from the Irish fans and I think they will have another
great fight to look forward to in Limerick in November and hopefully I
can win over some more fans there.

Having congratulated Kiko in the ring on Saturday Casey says he has
the utmost respect for the champion and revealed that he has no
intention of engaging in any trash talk with Martinez. I've no
Spanish and he's no English so there wouldn't be much point in us
slagging each other off! In all seriousness though Kiko seems to be a
gentleman and he's proving that he's a real champion by coming to my
hometown to defend his title so you have to respect him for that. On
the night though it will be all business because I want that belt and
I won't stop punching until I have it!

Tickets for the Hunky Dorys Fight Night: Big Bang Theory will go on
    sale from 9am on Friday, October 1st from Ticketmaster.ie / 0818
    719300 and all usual outlets.

    Well here is your cue,

Fair play to Willie for getting the shot, But in my opinion he really needs to change his game plan to beat Kiko,
I seen the Salvini fight and he took alot of clean punches, and if he does that with Kiko, he will be stopped.

And as for the rest of your statment, you really need to get a grip.
Yeah i support the Hyland boys, but i also support alot of other Irish boxers

Like i said, fair play to Willie on getting the shot and i really hope he wins,

What about the mandatory? See as this fight is a voluntary, wouldn't a mandatory be forced next. Not sure how it works, just wondering.

The Mandatory is Simone Maldtrottu but from what i can gather is that he is still out injured, But Jason Booth is back in the equation now after losing on Saturday. He was the mandatory before he gave that up to fight Molitor

And mandatory or not, Money talks in the game of boxing politics......
