Starting to lean that way myself, those that think Hyland is going to implode when Willie catches up to him may be in for a shock.I feel this is where the fight will be won or lost.

If Hyland wins this fight on points he is going to have to do it clearly. Any close rounds may well go to Willie with the fight being in his backyard so for Paulie to win it he will have his work cut out on points. I am sitting on the fence on this I think if it goes to points it could be a split decision in favour of Willie but I reckon there could well be more than 1 fight between the 2 lads in future. Would of loved to get down but for it to be on the mothers birthday the finaces wouldnt cover both fight and birthday. Will have to make do with RTE.

I think Casey/Hyland is Poonsawat/Dunne for slow learners.

We will find out on Saturday night if he has any chin trouble as the Big Bang will land in this fight at some stage. It is a shame Paul doesnt seem to have a power punch on him he reminds me a small bit of McCullough in the bigger fights he lacked the real power to hurt the big names.

did anyone here watch the fight live where Hyland lost to Gonzalez or watched sme footage of it? I wondering how it went because Hyland seemed to have lost to an average opponent there

He was a lucky lad in his last fight he should of lost that fight a draw was the wrong call but then again it was a real home town decision when it should of went the other way. I though out of the Olympians out of the UK team he would of been the 1 of the best along with Frankie Gavin.

Seven-fight Frampton fancies Euro tilt already

Submitted by BoxRec News on 2 November, 2010 - 12:40 Belfast super-bantamweight Carl Frampton wants to fight the winner of this weekend’s all Irish European title fight between Willie Casey and Paulie Hyland as soon as possible.
Unbeaten Frampton, 7-0 (4KO), who fights Gavin Reid for the Celtic super-bantamweight crown on Barry McGuigan’s second Ulster Hall show on Friday December 3 will be a keen observer of Saturday’s action in Limerick.
“It’s great to see two Irish boxers fight each other for the European title for the first time and I wish them both the best of luck,” Irish Boxing’s Prospect of the Year Frampton said.
“It shows just how strong boxing is here that we have three boxers at this level in the same division at the same time. I know the winner will have to fight Kiko Martinez in his first defence, but after that I want first crack. I’m confident I can beat Hyland, Casey and Martinez now, and in six months time I’ll be even better.”
Frampton is busy preparing for his first championship bout with Scotsman Reid and believes he will show further improvement from his third round stoppage of Yuriy Voronin in September.
“I was very happy with how I boxed against Voronin, but there is so much more to come. The sparring I am getting is unbelievable and now I am preparing for a 10 round championship fight I have no fear of doing 12.”
Promoter Barry McGuigan agrees that his charge deserves to be mentioned in the same breath as Hyland and Casey.
“Carl has all the tools to get to the very top and even though he has only had seven fights I would be happy to put him in against Hyland or Casey right now,” former world featherweight champion McGuigan said.
“Willie has only had 10 fights himself – and three of them were in one night on Prizefighter so I don’t believe experience would be an issue. Carl was one of the most successful Irish amateurs of recent years and since turning pro we have had him work with some of the best super-bantams and feathers in Europe so he knows how to adapt to any situation.”
The December 3 card will also feature local stars Jamie Conlan, Stephen Haughian and Ryan Greene as well as England’s Chris Keane and Troy James. Further undercard action will be announced in the coming weeks.
