seen the ad for sport on RTE in 2011. In the Boxing section was some footage of Wille Casey. Maybe I am putting 2 + 2 and getting 5 but are RTE still in the running for showing the Casey World title fight?

 

I can't talk about RTE right now I'm so mad about that decision. No dispect to G MC Dowel. What the F*CK does KAtie have to do to get the recognition she deserves. Golf has won SPOTY a few times in recent years with P Harrington. I've nothing against Golf but no way is McDowel as much of a figure in Golf like Katie is in Amateur boxing let alone Womens boxing.

 

Hopefully Katie's greatest achievements are yet to come, 2012 and Olympic gold, then not only boxing but the whole country will see to it that Sports personality of the year is hers.

oxingScene.com was advised by Lou DiBella, promoter for WBC middleweight champion Sergio Martinez, that HBO is going to make the final call on Martinez's next opponent. DiBella has already reserved the date of March 12 at the WaMu Theater in New York's Madison Square Garden. The three opponents under consideration are WBC interim-champion Sebastian Zbik, WBO 154-pound champion Sergei Dzinziruk, and once-beaten Andy Lee. "Those are the three guys we are looking at. At the end of the day, it's HBO call on who Sergio fights next," DiBella told ***********.com. "We made a commitment to Madison Square Garden to bring Sergio there on March 12. I believe we'll make a deal in the next few days with HBO."
*********** has heard that two rival networks, one of them a new player looking to enter the boxing industry, are trying to lure Martinez away from HBO. DiBella refused to issue a comment.
"I have no comment on that subject. I'm confident that we'll reach a deal with HBO," DiBella said.

 

I was initially pleased, then disappointed, then releaved. The Urbanski, Vera then Duddy sounded like a perfect buildup of opposition for Lee in preparation for bigger things to come. The Martinez fight, while not having had great preparation, was to good an opportunity to turn down. Then hearing he had been overlooked I'm wondering if that is not a blessing in disguise and get Vera and Duddy back on the agenda.
