oh - not a bad word about Jim on here or you'll have me to deal with. As for Jimmy Magee - the sooner he retires the better and I mean the sooner!
Jimmy mcgee is ok,Knows alot of stuff but if you were to believe him when he says how great all the boxers come to fight the Irish lads you would think they were fighting the best in the world.
he might know the line up of the 1972 Kerry GAA team but I'm sorry but he knows **** all about boxing and is completely embarassing
I like Jimmy Mc Gee but it fairly obvious that his boxing knowledge is less than impressive. He's just winging it most of the time
I couldn't believe it when Rock picked Jason McKay to beat Andy Lee - what the hell was he thinking ? I actually don't mind Dowling. They should bring in Steve Collins, anytime i've heard him he has mostly made sense
I think Colins shot himself in the foot a bit with the infamous gomez/Mc Donagh fight and stevie immediately called it a blatant fix and said it all smelt rotten. That gobshite that introduces the show(dont know his name and dont want to)went white and immediately said steves thoughts were personal ones and not shared by rte.Havent seen him since then. Also he decked one of the security staff in the stadium but im not sure if it was the same night. That said i agree he is the most knowledgeable guy we have in the country for the simple reason he has been there and done that.
Forgive me for getting political for one minute, and as an american "mick" it's probably not my business, but I'm PRAYING that Ireland votes NO to the the "big brother" e.u. lisbon treaty tomorow! There, I said it and I'm glad! All the best to everyone! Sorry Ardy, couldn't resist! Political rant -over!
We'll ill be voting no myself i havent come across anyone that is voting yes aside from a blueshirt i work with.
BREEN: SINKY BACK IN THE BRITISH PICTURE http://www.irishnews.com/articles/597/556/2008/6/10/589926_348012684477BreenSin.html
55,000 out of 90,000 isnt nearly gone. It takes over 30,000 for the GAA to break even on opening Croker for the football or hurling (and that is probably not including the GAAs marketing budget and also the players dont get paid), imagine the extra cost of the pitch cover, cost of setting up stage, transporting all the rig there on top of advertising and paying Prince and his band. 55,000 might not be enough to do that. A stadium is not a purpose built concert hall so the numbers add up differently. Likewise with boxing, the cost of setting up tv lights is sizeable as well as the marketing and paying the boxers.
Looks like its Gibbs.Found this in news section. http://www.eastsideboxing.com/news.php?p=16068&more=1
Unfortunately Mark Doyle is in France this week so we have been unable to get anything up on irish-boxing.com about it. Should be back to normal come Monday. Shaping up to be a good bill in Limerick.
