Khan makes revised (increased) offer to McCloskey [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cwPgQOhpycc&feature=feedu[/ame]
I actually agree with this. Khan is a way bigger name and deserves the majority of the money. McCloskey can take the offer, make the most money in his career for any one fight and get the opportunity to fight for a world title. The alternative is to keep trying to push his way up through a hugely talented division and fight more bums on Peters' cards for peanuts. It makes far more sense to go for the former option, regardless of how much money Khan is making in comparison. McCloskey is fortunate to have this offer, he will be waiting a long time before he gets another chance (if he does at all) and time isn't on his side. Khan is right. If McCloskey wins he will be in a position to negotiate better deals. The carrot of this, McCloskey's biggest purse to date and the quite frankly undeserving chance to fight for a world title is nowhere near as bad a deal as people are making it out to be. McCloskey should accept it.
dude thats Andre Berto atsch haha! and Mccloskey at full Welter is a bit much i think? and totally agreed Berto Cotto after the mayorga fight!
McEwan steps in to fight Lee in Connecticut Saturday, 22 January 2011 Unbeaten Scottish middleweight Craig McEwan has stepped into the breach to take on Limerick boxer Andy Lee in Connecticut on March 12. Lee was originally due to take on fellow-Irishman John Duddy but, when his compatriot announced his retirement from boxing during the week, Lee faced the possibility of having a scheduled bout cancelled for the second time in recent months. Lee had been penciled in to fight on the undercard of the heavyweight clash between Wladimir Klitschko and Derek Chisora on December 11 last year but his bout was cancelled after Klitschko was forced to pull out of the feature event. Lee was on the verge of another disappointing cancellation until McEwan stepped in. On March 12, the pair will fight on the undercard to the Sergio Martinez/Serhiy Dzinziruk fight at Foxwoods Casino in Connecticut. McEwan boasts a professional record of 19 wins from 19 bouts (10 KOs) while Lee has been beaten just once in 25 fights (18 Kos). The Irishman is hoping that a victory over McEwan will be a stepping stone to a world title shot later this year. This content is protected
