No idea but it will be interesting to see how JJN fairs tonight. This will be his first contest in the WSB against a natural Bantamweight, and the other fighter has won his only fight to date in the competition so far. In terms of Olympic qualification this fight is huge aswell, as Nevin will likely end up having had 6 bouts in the WSB when the regular season has ended and he'll probably need to have won them all to qualify for the Individual Championships(where the top 2 fighters in each division box off for an Olympic place). Rees would be a tough fight for Andy Murray, but it's a fight they've got to take. No point hiding Andy away against weak opposition any longer, it's sink or swim time for him imo.
Not good at all. McBride won't last 5 rounds because he isn't in shape. I wonder about McBride's health and his advisors sometimes!
Following Hearns press release yesterday, Khans team spits back. http://boxing-ireland.com/20110128_amir_khan_responds_19.html McCloskeys response was immediate - We will soon be releasing an official statement to tell the REAL FACTS of this matter. People can decide for themselves after that.
Wow, 20% of ticket sales. Can we put a value on that. 4,400 tickets if a sellout would that not be £200,000/250,000 Euro (would you believe I have a brand new laptop and it has no euro key, do you think compac know something about the euros future that we don't), I would think that would have been an acceptable figure. Think McCloskey's team need to reveal the details as if true this paints a poor picture.
What do you guys think of McBride going up against Adamek. McBride wrote his note in the history of the sport when he stopped Tyson but getting walloped around the ring as target practice for a title fight wouldn't do him or his career any good. I don't know his circumstances but I don't like the look of this. Does he stand any chance?
Nope and what worries me even more is that Adamek won't get him out quick but rather give him a sustained beating over 6 rounds before the REf stops it or McBride runs out of steam. Like McBride a lot but he should of retired immediately after PF!
Dec, send me a PM with your contact details and I will reserve a t-shirt for you. If anyone else wants a Clan Casey t-shirt as well just let me know.
Lads, I know Dudey quite well, being from the same town (only about 3,000 of us) and I have heard from non-boxing relatives of his back home what he was offered. I'm not sure how solid this info is, it could be 2nd or 3rd hand info, but IF the figures I have heard are true- Amir Khan and his team can take a long walk off a short cliff. Just hope Dudey reveals what the offer was. Going by his twitter, he seems very ****ed off. "your offer was NOT 3 times my last payday,FACT!team khan undervalues and disrespects his opponents,FACT" Also nice to see than Khan's conditioning coach- Alex Ariza, who got so much praise for ensuring Khan didn't get KD against Maidana, has left due to a pay dispute... I wouldn't say I'm a Dudey nuthugger, nor am I out to blacken Khans name (there are plenty of people out there who don't like him-probably for racial reasons or whatever) I don't let my heart rule my brain, and I'm not saying Paul is a P4P fighter or anything daft like that. However, there are a lot of "experts" on the Brit forum who seem to know it all. Lets just wait and see what happens over the next 24/48 hours...
