Is Sweeney and Timms off? Shite, who pulled out this time? Get a feeling that this one will never happen.
Not that its off - but they're talking - Main: Casey-Rigo Co-feature: Anthony Fitzgerald for EBA or WBA international Co-feature: Paul Hyland v Alex Acosta for some belt or other. Luis Garcia against a good opponent. Then the rest?
THE INVITING IRISH http://www.skysports.com/opinion/story/0,25212,13275_6742362,00.html "I CAN BEAT AMIR"- McLOSKEY http://www.u.tv/Sport/I-can-beat-Amir-McCloskey/dd003b1e-d5ed-4713-95f3-e03907893b78 EGAN ADMITS STRUGGLE WITH ALCOHOL http://www.rte.ie/sport/boxing/2011/0207/egank.html Wasn't at the press conference today, but I'm hearing it was an event in itself. The allocation of tickets is still being sorted out, so although McCloskey asked for 5000, nothing is for certain atm. But the article INVITING IRISH I posted is an indication that SKY are hoping for a large Irish contingent at the promotion[ probabley to help spice up the occassion], so they might get a little miffed if Khan doesn't supply Paul with an ample amount of tickets. Hope this ticket problem sorts itself out soon, as I won't be content until I have my tickets in my hand.
There was an issue with the tickets - Asif apologised at the presser - all of the cheap £40 are already sold out. Eddie Hearn made it clear he was not happy about it and it is to be sorted out today. Asif said that McCloskey and the Irish fans will be well looked after and they can take 10,000 tickets if they want. The Breens Gym deal (from Belfast) could be something in the region of £180 for ticket, coach, boat and hotel tbc.:good The presser was absolutely bunged - very good turn out of fans and press
If this is the case could somebody keep me updated? I am as skint as ever but this is affordable and would definitely take me over to the fight.
Khan/Bradley talks are going well... I didn't expect him to overlook McCloskey, but it seems he might be doing so!
Asif also said that they didnt have a contract with Alex Ariza that guy is a liar and a slabberer I dont believe a word out of his mouth :deal
id say hopefully paaddy mcdonagh v healy irish light heavy title jj mcdonagh v robbie long irish supermiddle title probably prunty heffron levan and cruise t top it off
Pish news if Sweeney-Tims is off. Fancy Sweeney if it ever does come off. Long road back for Paulie if Acost/Collado spanks him
http://www.irishboxers.ie/paulie’s-cuban-warning-kevin-byrne/ Hyland Acosta.... not yet heard if Paulie actually signed the deal, though there is supposed to be an agreement in principle. Both boxers want the fight, so let the jousting begin http://irish-boxing.com/stories/february11/feb11_hyland_acosta.html
Dudey's sister Julie is getting some tickets tomorrow apparently. £75 are the cheapest she is getting. Absolute joke if Khan's team don't have £40 and £50 tickets available for Dudey supporters, they are a shambles. Amateur hour at "Team Khan." People have flights/boat and hotels already booked and now have to pay 2 or 3 times what they were expecting to so they can get a ticket. Hope Eddie Hearn got ripped into that joker Asif!
