i reckon hickey will beat him but thats just i.m.o
i also thght joyce would beat brabazon, even though the ref shud be shot for the warning he gave joyce!
taking nothing away from mcdonagh but the decision was crazy! thats whats wrong with irish boxing we have judges who have never laced a glove in their lives and they are sitting down

No but she lost to the Bulgarian in Bulgaria. A girl she has comprehensively beatn on 2 previous occassions. I'd rather see it befoe I make judgment but her Dad reckons she dominated her opponent and should have won by 20 points! Anyone know where this can be seen?

Does anyone know what it going on with Dean Byrne? He does not seem to be active at all and is not stepping it up in what should be his prime? I don't think he will be able to take the B.Dunne route now with the state of the economy and I can't imagine the UK being much better? Hopefully he signs with Gary Shaw or someone like Lou DiBella who could put him on some cards with Lee and build his profile a bit.

Lads, a few months ago I expressed concerns about the possibility of Katie fighting an English fighter in the Olympics in 2012 and getting robbed and ye all scolded me. I haven't seen this fight with the Bulgarian but if she did beat her comprehensively and still managed to get robbed then maybe my fears were rational after all.

Apparently the referee raised Katie's hand afterwards in the view that she had won, and had to backtrack.

Plus her opponent apologised afterwards for the result!

Real fear though Ecto, Kenny all over again... I still think he won that Olympic final.

I was there too and how jjjoyce was 2-0 up after round one was madness and think he did lose by a few points. There is a problem with warnings at the moment but the system is changing.
McDonagh boxed to the scoring system to favour him sadly the system is terrible. I was very surprised he got the decision on a countback when donovan done all the work.
Dave joe joyce should have lost and dosent luck like he'll beat joe ward but he is a big guy.
I thought darren got lucky it wasnt a countback and was a bit odd with the timing.
Con was world class and michael conlon was propably the one who impressed me most.

Don't think so hicky couldn't handle David o Joyce strength so i dont think he'll handle phils power, saying that hickey id a very good fighter.
