It was supposed to be an 8 rounds but Chacin was actin the bollix pre fight.

SKY will have a feature on Carl on Thursday.

McGuigan is now working with matchroom - SKY is the way forward and this fight was necessary to strengthen relationships with both.

Fair enough. If he's made the decision to go the Sky route then fair enough. At least he won't be falling between two stools. I hope it's not the end of Carlos boxing at home though :-(

I take it that it was ****ing freezing in that place by the way. I was cold looking at the video with Carlos in his wooly hat!

It's obvious McGuigan has lost some money, or maybe he didn't make the money he expected from the Setanta shows, but either way he should bite the bullet and put on Carl in Belfast asap, he has the talent and drawing power to eventually win at least the Brirish or European title and maybe start filling bigger venues in Belfast, but these things don't happen overnight. It's a slow process, a building process that may take considerable capital on McGuigan's part, but ultimately if Carl is as good as Barry is always suggesting then the investment, speculation or whatever you want to label it will pay a return eventually.
You have to ask what advantage McGuigan sought from putting Frampton on Huddersfield, and the obvious answer is Sky time i.e better exposure. But it was ridiculous to expect another promoter who has no part of Carl to give him the high profile contest that Barry was hoping for. I know some may argue that Groves a Hayemaker boxer was on the show, but the difference with him is that he is already high profile,English and a big ticket seller, whereas Carl is relatively unknown in Britain, Irish and a poor ticket seller [in Britain anyhow].It was a penny pinching decision by McGuigan to get him this fight in England, nothing more nothing less, but it's backfired.
RTE as you already know aren't showing much boxing this year, so Carl boxing for them isn't much of an option. I think the only alternative for Barry is if he can't afford to promote Carl, he should get into bed with one of the British promoters who have a deal with SKY, that's the only thing that makes sense to me atm.

IF Frampton is finished with Setanta and I was McGuigan I would do everything possible to get Frampton on the McCloskey v Khan undercard. Big Irish crowd going over for the fight and hopefully a packed out MEN it would get Frampton know. A card with a couple of Irish fighters will get the juices flowing for all the Irish people in the MEN before the McCloskey fight.

Probably but I will go with Lee KO because I reckon he will see how much more it will benefit him to stop an undefeated opponent on US TV. A KO would make a big statement and Lee knows this is last chance saloon for a 160 shot if he screws up (with the exception of Germans Sturm/Sylvester who actaully will want to offer him a shot if he loses or looks bad).

He'd seriously want to stay away from the kebabs or he'll be the next James Toney.
