    Darren, his brother Eamonn, and his father Stanley train the young boxers of The Sacred Heart aba club Belfast, so I'm assuming he also uses that gyms facilities.Eamonn Corbett is also training Ciaran Healy for his up-coming Irish title against Jamie Moore.It will be interesting to see how much Darren has left. He was always a massive puncher, a great front foot fighter and I wish him all the best.:hi:

    thanks for that - good to hear that he is still well involved in the industry.

    Have you seen him recently? is he in decent shape?

    Did you see the superfights show with his fights on it - complete with arse wigglin!

    Thanks for that Paddy, John looked controlled in this fight. A good improvement on his last fight.

    Hi guys, was listening to Andy Lee being interviewed there yesterday. He came across as very honest and aware that this fight is make or break time. During the interview Lee was asked what the future holds for him if he is unsuccessful in his comeback fight in limerick. He replied by saying that if that were the case the sport of boxing may not have a future for him.He wants to beat the best and if he cannot do so why continue, there are better ways of making a living.
    When asked about the vera fight, without making excuses he said there was complancency on his part and that of his team. Fighting the wrong fight etc.

    From listening to him talk I dont think this will be the last time we see him in the ring!

    Lets hope so. Duddy stepped up to the plate brilliantly the other night now i just hope Dunne and Lee can do the same thing and get the wheels back on the irish bandwagon.

    I wouldn't go so far as to say Duddy was brilliant but rather much improved.Burns seems to be the type of person who makes you listen to him whether you want to or not.
    I'm looking forward tosee Duddy fighting at 154 - probably less money but a longer and more sucessful career should be had at the lower weight

    It was an improvement from Duddy definately!
    But look at the opposition! How long would Howe have lasted with pavlik.
    I dont know if Duddy will ever compete with a guy of his calibre. Lets hope so! The next few fights will prove it.

    Much improved is spot on. Still things to work on but some of those body shots looked sore. As for the opposition , I agree that it shouldnt of went 10 rds but this sort of thing happens where a fighter Is just able to stay in there eg hatton v lazcano

    The only thing against John is his age, although he is not old at 29. I just mean that I hope they give him time to really absorb things from the new team(Burns). If you look at Pavlic's record, he didn't step it up until like his 25th fight,but Pavlic is 3 years younger. I wouldn't mind seeing him have another journeyman fight before stepping up (Mora?) If the Duddy-haters don't like it, tough. Nobody's breaking their arms to watch him fight. If he can be comfortable at 154, maybe it's the way to go. And, maybe the fight on Saturday,going the full 10 rds. was just what he needed. Anyway, here's hoping the cuts are never a problem again, and ALL THE BEST JOHN!:good

    I agree Mike, 10rds of boxing is exactly what John needed.He needed to work on his boxing skill , not blast someone out in a couple of rounds.The move to lightmiddle is his future, it's mad to be giving away natural size to these big middles, if you don't need to. There's speculation in yesterdays Daily Mirror that Duddy's next fight is in September, Kings Hall Belfast being the venue.:hi:
