Guys I am a studio guest for the Irish special on ALL FM station in manchester. We are doing an Irish special. http://www.maineventboxingshow.co.uk/
Or that Gemmell guy. They are all as bad as each other. They usually sulk away when beaten down with the reality of facts and mooch off muttering something about "pot-hate-hoes!" Anyway, the show went well. Tried to get Casey, McCloskey and McGuigan on but only had time for McGuigan - Jesus the boy can talk, almost as much as me! ha ha! :good I think I managed to get everything in, Casey-Rigo, Lee, Magee-Bute, throngs of Micks in Manchester for McCloskey, Fitzer stepping up, Frampton to batter Quigg, Sweeney-Tims, the rise of Irish boxing with the help of Peters and Dunne, grass roots with DolPhil and Alio etc etc etc Didnt shoehorn Pruntys name though! :?
Lads anyone else get the feeling that Rigo is just not up for this fight. i just have a feeling that he see's coming to Dublin to take on Casey as a bit of an irritation and perhaps beneath him. Or could it be just acase of quietly getting on with training turn up on Saturday and blow casey away and move on to bigger fights
Simple fact is he was only invited today to disturb his own training, give him a long journey Cork-Dublin and back again, and he has no need to come. Casey looked fantastic down at the gym today, his usual old self though I guess.
Rigo needs a good win here so whether or not he thinks its beneath him is irrelevant. In the grand scheme of things Casey is a total nobody. Struggling against him isn't going to impress HBO or Showtime very much. Also the simple thing to do, if this is an irritation for him, is to blow Casey out of the water within a couple or rounds and move on.
With cheltenham tomorrow and Paddys day it will be a mental week leading up to the Casey fight. Would love to see Casey do it but it will be a huge ask. I might have a spare ticket but wont find out until the Friday night at the earliest.
I'd say he's professional enough to not take anyone for granted but the way Hyde is talking about him and the obvious gulf in class means that anything other than a comprehensive victory would actually be a set back. There's an awful lot of pressure on Rigo to win in style so let's hope he's out to send out a message and show boats and makes a big mistake...
lads iv a fiver on an irish treble of casey magee and mccloskey, pays out like 1200 quid, im confident
Got my McCloskey ticket today in the post, adding to my Big Bang/Rigo ticket and Republic of Ireland v Macedonia ticket. A stressful month ahead:bbb
