Here's what I think would be the perfect road for Lee to take. Fight Vera next on HBO in June. Have a 12 round tune up fight in Limerick after that. Then target Julio Cesar Chavez. Bob Arum won't be putting Chavez in with the likes of Lemieux, Martinez etc. Andy Lee fight would make lots of sense for them. Let's be honest, Lee doesn't have a hope of beating Martinez so what's the point in targeting him.
chavez fights zbik for wbc in june and hes gettin beaten so he wont be in competetive fight for a while after
The only way Zbik can win that fight is by knockout and he doesn't have the power to knock out Chavez. Chavez will win, either legitimately or by robbery.
his defence will have to get tighter between now and then, if that fight does happen I hope they keep it out of Texas in case it goes to the cards, MSG would be ideal
Poor and all as Chavez is he would have beaten Andy handy Saturday. Di Bella doesnt get many HBO dates so were probably looking at Martinez next fight before Lee gets on Hbo again and thats dependent on Di Bella not deciding to showcase a different guy from his stable. Id be happy enough with two espn or showtime slots for Andy and perhaps a fight back here. I dont think the money is there to bring Lee back though unless Di Bella links up with a brit promoter and gets sky involved. Rematch Vera, get a guy like Ishe Smith and maybe the Georgian that gave Njikam a great fight last year. They would be three good progressive fights imo. After last Saturday I think any world title talk should be put on the back burner for a bit yet
What's up fella's... Have a few questions if you fella's wouldn't care to help me with? 1. What's the story on B. Dunne these days? I saw he'd fought again a bit after the Martinez loss, but had heard of turmoil with his trainer? (this been awhile, if I'm wrong, sorry) 2. How about McKloskey? He was fun to watch there for a bit, but haven't heard much myself lately. 3. Does RTE still do internet broadcasts? If so, you know when a next one might be?
Stephen Ormond Registers Win number 9 and targets title hot in fight 10 http://www.irish-boxing.com/stories/march11/mar11_ormond_reaction.html Wille Casey winds up training-news from todays media work out http://www.irish-boxing.com/stories/march11/mar11_casey_training_over.html Willie did look strong and focused today- there is an air of excitement and confidence in the gym. But i heard Rigo dropped the french lad (who has 20 pounds on him) in sparring, could be waffle but.... I cant wait for this fight now!!
