so lads after a tough day at the office yesterday it is back 2 paul mccloskey for an unlikely win and our other 2 only realistic hopes of picking up a world strap in the near future,andy lee and matthew macklin.i feel like weve been taken 2 the cleaners but at least willie and brian can say they fought for a world title. i was particularly proud of magee,fought like a true warrior and was n against a genuine class act whoanyone at super-middle or light heavy will struggle against.big bang was just completely outof his depth but he can re-build,and have his manager and promoter plot a better route too honurs this time around.

 

Was a good enough night last night. Few people round me were booing the stoppage in the Mcmahon fight but the girl had turned her back and clearly didnt want anymore. Paddy Ward is what he is, not very good. Was disapointed with Mcdonagh. Sweeney Tims was fight of the night. Took a few rounds to get going but was entertaining. Sweeney trying to steal rounds by only fighting last 30 secs and Tims doing well on the inside. I had it a draw but delighted Tims got the win. Sweeney should be at super middle. After a round and a half of heffron I said to the girlfriend I dont see what the hype is about, then he turned on the style and looked brilliant. Fitzy suprised me and fair play to him but it was a terrible stoppage imo. The French lad was a ****in eejit afterwards though. Rigo was just different class. Delighted for Gary Hyde, was up with him during the week and he was buzzing for this, as evidenced by his shadow boxing up on the balcony hes a real boxing guy, not just a businessman like Peters. Thought the Garda presence was a bit heavy handed. I realise they were worried after smithfield but a ****in armed response unit in the carpark? Is that really necessary? And a drink driving checkpoint couple hundred yards up the road afterwards. Thankfully I only had 1 pint at 6 o clock so was grand. Anyone else get caught in that? Some of the behaviour from the travellers was a disgrace though. They paid for 50 quid tickets and before the main event moved up and simply took other peoples seats in front of me and refused to leave. Security just looked at them and left it to the patrons to try and get them to move. The travellers then stood on the chairs even though they could have seen perfectly sitting down. There was a 2 couples in their 60s id reckon sat in front of us. They paid 70 each for their tickets and saw absolutely none of the main event. The security and whoever hired them should be ashamed and I will be contacting Dolphil to let them know my feelings. Dunno if I would attend another Casey fight or event at the citywest to be honest.

On paper it was a good win for Fitzer, but the stoppage was shocking. Belgacham is a tough cookie and only opens up after 6 rounds.

I actually feel sorry for Fitzer because he was winning the fight and the manner of the stoppage simply leaves question marks over him! Pity.

i had the fitz fight level after 4 from my seat and thought the stoppage was poor. Will re watch though and see if I score it different

 

I watched it, twice, none of Fitzers shots landed flush - if I had seen Afiff's head snapping back even once or knees buckle then fair enough but he was 100% and just soaking up some pressure. Like I said, it actually did a diservice to Fitzer who was working well and winning.

 

The stoppage was bull****, btu did Affif break hisnose or something, lto of blood coming out of it?
