So tell me this and I will then drop my argument because its unfair considering your close tie's with certain people involved, how can any of these fighters turn around to Brian Peters in 6 months time as say, "Brian I want 1500 to do a 6 rounder" because Brian will say "Go **** yourself, your fighting for nothing on-till I see how much if anything the show makes" So in my opinion these lads are selling themselves down the river and will end up worse off, because the IPBA cant offer middle rank fighters anything and the card fillers will now be in a worse position. But what the heck we will save Irish boxing because we love Irish boxing because bla bla bla bla bla

Btw did any of ye read Bernard Dunne's new book recently. He gave Brian peters some going over in it And here I was thinking that they got on fine during dunnes career. just goes to show you never know whats going on behind the scenes.

 

Aye, I was surprised to read all of that, but it was a great read. Dunne really persevered with his career considering the hassle he had with the cyst, his hands etc as well as the realities of pro boxing. Even more respect for him after reading his book:good

 

Now thats entertainment- dnt visit here for a few hours and you get four pages of reading!

In green jabs defense lads- his heart is in boxing-he is decent lad.

The Hyland card is a good card Fitzpatrick and healey is a good bout- and im looking forward to Spike and Long. Pajo was contacted by the WBF- what was he to say no? the EBA title and the inter continental title(which you cant nock him for winning- he beat Hammond and Affif(im dyslexic so not a hope of me spelling his second name). So winning that title against a decent opponent is better than fighint on an English undercard- and he is genuinly excited about it. Good to see Eddie back. No harm in lending all your support to that show-and fair play to green jab the presser was done well and ver profesional

But im a big supporter of the Galway(socailsit) show-more shows the better, same with lurgan and Holiday Inn show- more Irish fighters than ever the next few months.

Ya he was as honest as could be in this book. I'd say he was dying to tear into Peters when his career was finished The cyst situation explains why he never fought in Britain aswell, I had heard about it but never knew all the detail's. The book had some great info on his amateur career to, and some funny stories from the Wildcard gym. Entertaining read.

 

I really hope somene can bring the kind of fighters over that we saw in the Dunne era. Getting Cordoba and Poonsawat(two of my favourite fighters since my early teens) over was great, and really got an added interest in the sport(coupled with the Olympians, of course). Otherwise it'll be once in a blue moon type happenings like Rigo coming over.
