Things are progressing well. A couple of medals would not be out of the question.

Egan is on in the morning, just after 8 (Irish time), I think.

Cheers Mick, some medals for sure! I was pissed to see the irish fours out of the rowing last night.

Yeah, a good win. Nice use of the jab from Egan, keeping him at bay. Looked to tie the Turk up any time he got past the jab.

I'd fancy his chances against Silva in the Quarter Final.

By the way, Michael Carruth and Andy Lee have been very good as TV analysts. They are both surprisingly relaxed and articulate on television for people who are used to doing their talking with their fists. They also make a lot more in the way of sensible points than I'm used to on RTE's boxing coverage.

Kenny will now win the easiest olympic medal Irelnd has ever won.His first two opponents were not up to much and the next guy wouldnt win the intermediates. This in no way means to take from Kenny who in the last 6 years has got the rough end of the draw almost continiously and has kept training and representing his club and country brilliantly(well done to gerry and all the other coaches at neilstown who got kenny where he is)
I also agree Carruth and Lee are by far the best combo on the panel.Sensible points ,well delivered ,not trying to score points off each other, an air of two guys that have been there and are trying to make everyone (boxing people and not) understand what is going on in the ring and out of it for the irish team.
