I think we are consistant in our view.

When Hyland and Fitzer were called out on it some Dubs said that it was some sort of "culchie agenda"

When the whole of Geesala invaded the ring like Julio Cesar Chavez unified the division there was universal cringeosity.

The thing that is different here is that those lads didnt have the option to be fighting for legit titles at the time, hadnt been made the type of offers that Rogie has and werent claiming their piece of tin is equal to "anything the Klitschkos have".

I dont have a real problem with lads fighting for a KFC title what I do have an issue is with the spin surrounding this one.

Rogie was basically trying to portray the scenario as "I dont need Fury anymore I got this amazing world title fight instead." and then got very defensive whenever anyone dared to question the credentials.

Good luck to Rogie but he has to realise the people are more switched on than before and due to BoxRec and the internet us "keyboard warriors" can scratch the surface very easy and the word spreads.

"its absolutely amazing, the WBU heavyweight title, do you need to say anymore?"

"as much as I deserve it, I think the fans deserve it"

"his record reigns above mine, I'm up against it, but if it means being the underdog then happy days, we all know what Rogie is like when he is the underdog."

"its not the lesser(title), its far from the lesser, did George Foreman call it the lesser when he won it and retained it 3 times?"

"this is massive for Belfast, massive in every way"

For anyone that's interested - Willie Casey is EVENS to win via Decision tonight on Boyle. Sassou is a sturdy fella and the fight is only 8 rounds. It's worth a few yoyo's.

Rogie gets a lot of publicity here from local papers and more importantly BBCNI and UTV. If he is not going to box in the states or box Fury, he should consider running a show in Ulster or Kings Hall, in which he can box an international opponent. With the publicity the big man gets he could most definitely sell out these venues. He could maybe even get the fight shown on BBCNI. This in my opinion is the only sensible option for Rogie, but the word sensible and Rogan haven't been going hand in hand lately.:verysad

    perhaps, never claimed it myself.

I had a smile at that myself but I think that night shall still be seen as a positive night for Irish boxing. A competitive domestic title clash, a sold out venue and a TV channel broadcasting live professional boxing for the first time ever. The alphabet title generated that interest.

I somewhat agree and I said at the time that he should have fought Fury. I'm sure Dunne and Rock had better options at the time.

He's hyping the fight, that's all.

As for Fury needing Rogan - it works both ways. Fury needs Rogan too and he needs that Irish title if he's to tap into that Irish fan base he craves.

I agree, Fury needed Rogie as well. Fury was happy to take the fight, why wasnt Rogie?

He was offered the full £80k he was asking for, was in good shape, had been training for Pulev and must have been training when there was the first mention of possibly fighting Fury. Why turn that down to take a half-arsed massively risky decision to promote your own show in the Odessey?
