I am a pats fan, but have to say i was cheering Rover last night...didnt see all the match though, much to Slaps disgust i was D4 posh ball training. I was never allowed like Rovers growing up- but when i was editing a sports section in Tallaght they were a dream to work with and the stuff they did with Kids in the area was unreal-good to see the reaping the benifit
Im a Bohs fan not the biggest one mind you but I was supporting them last night. Always support The Irish league teams in Europe .
Win or Bust for Lee in Gambling City http://www.irish-boxing.com/2011/09/win-or-bust-for-andy-lee-in-atlantic-city/ Lee: Next Stop World Title http://www.irish-boxing.com/2011/09/lee-next-stop-world-title/
I really hope Lee doesn't get a shot at Martinez anytime soon. I rewatched the McEwan fight and it's unbelievable how poor Andy was from round 2 to 6. If he were to fight Martinez, I don't think he'd get sparked. I'd say it would be a prolonged beatdown that would last until Manny throws in the towel. If he beats Vera he really needs to get in with a top 10 fighter and show some defence/head movement and use his jab. Only then, after an impressive win over a world level fighter, should he even consider getting into the ring with Martinez. I'm a Lee fan but his career has been frustrating to follow.
Tbh he looked **** aginst Mcewan it looked like he is getting worse rather than improving since the Vera loss although it might have been a bad night at the office . I hope he fights someone like Manfredo next then Macklin or Rubio he still needs a few more tough fights before Martinez definatley.
bohs fan here not too keen on the we are evil gang {rovers} but i support irish teams all the way and would f been delighted if they won
Vera is a top 10,and if Andy wins why would he have to prove himself again, straight to crack at world title i say!!!
He most certainly is not. Any top 10 fighter would easily handle Vera so while it might avenge his only loss, a win tomorrow does little to prove he is ready for the top fighters. Put him in there with N'Jikam and see how he does.
