Taylor untested in Cork victory Saturday, 1 October 2011 11:08 World and European lightweight champion Katie Taylor recorded a landslide win over Holland's Jessica Belber in Cork last night. The Bray woman beat the Dutch champion 21-1 in the main event of the evening on the third annual St John's BC show at the Rochestown Park Hotel on Leeside. The bout is Taylor's last before she aims for her fifth European title in-a-row in Holland later this month. Taylor has been named in a nine-woman squad for the Continental deciders which begin on 16 October in Rotterdam. The 2011 European Championships will be the final major tournament for European female boxers before the 2012 AIBA World Senior Women's Championships and the only Olympic qualifier for women in China next May.
