I dont think anyone can accuse Steve of being disingenuous.

Steve is probably the nicest guy in boxing. He has covered the sport brilliantly for years- and if anything his 'lesser' belt piece shows he is willing to cover real issues and not only rant about them but studied it weigh up opinions and so fort.

He covered what was said at the presser this time round...

ah Slap were not falling out again are we????!!!!!!! I am too busy for a big back and fort dust up!

Wonder whoelse will be on the Frampton card. Could Brian Magee and Andy Lee get on the card. Might be a good move for both and hopefully Sky show the fight live. For Andy it would be great for him to link up with a British promotor to get his fights shown on Sky for the UK and Ireland fans makes sense for Sky to show Lees and Macklins fights if there is a chance for Barker or Martin Murray to fight either in the coming year.

Carlos was on Radio Ulster this afternoon claiming he and wee Barry have not been contacted about the fight. He's earned the right to find himself in a much stronger bargaining position with Kiko and he sounded pretty pissed off that this fight might be forced upon him

We'll I dont think that I have "just ranted about them" and infact I was the first to discover the WBU that Rogie was fighting for wasnt the same as the Skelton one or German one.

Like I said, I think its disingenuous to do an article exposing those title belts and then reporting quotes from a presser on the subject without clarifying the true position. If Rogie said in the presser that the Klitschko brothers and Mike Tyson turned down the chance to fight him in the Kings Hall would you report is unquestioningly?

We aint falling out, mature people can have a difference of opinion without falling out. I've had a "difference of opinion" with pretty much everyone on this forum at one stage or another but but hold no malice.

i didnt acuse you of ranting- i am just saying Steve's piece was rant free!!!!

and i didnt report on the presser Steve did- and i presume he did so in the belief that boxing people had read his other piece and were aware of the situation.

Pointless fight for Lee though, he'd just be stalling again.

It wouldn't be pointless at all. The point that it would serve would be a fight to keep Lee busy and focused. He's not getting a tv date in the US until at least March next year. Fitzer makes the most sense. And before you suggest getting in a higher level opponent than Anthony Fitzgerald, it was suggested for an undercard fight. They won't be able to afford anyone better. Fitzer is known and would sell a few tickets so it makes sense.

 Not at'all. I get homesick when I go back to Kildare sure.

I should clarify that I mean it shouldn't take preference over an actually meaningful fight. Lee's in or around the top ten fighters in the world and he'd want to be getting some relatively ''big'' fights in sooner rather than later. If it's merely a homecoming, keep-sharp sort of fight, then I have no qualms, but I don't see the point in him turning down fighting someone who's ranked on the world stage in favour of fighting Fitzgerald. Levels apart in my opinion.

    Still with that eh?
