Garcia has got a fight on a showtime card in the states at the end of december. Nothin on perez. Big year for them. Need to be active in 2012
Ya matt, burnett looks like he's really after packing on the muscle recently so i'd imagine he'd struggle to make 49kg. I really hope that decision for Milligan didn't turn him off boxing! It's not often you hear of a fella quitting because of a winning decision. He must have found it difficult to deal with everyone telling him that Conlon was robbed, although i'd imagine he might have even admitted it himself! Haven't heard anything bout him since, which worries me a bit! Also, is JJN not signed up at one weight (56kg)? or did he sign up for 61kg at the start of the season?
Is that the reason Frankie Gavin didn't make the weight for '08? Was he just jumping up and down in weight for domestic clashes or what? sounds strange...
I heard Milligan ribs got badly hurt in his fight with Conlan, therefore he couldn't box in the nationals. After that he went to university and subsequently retired. Jesus Ardy, that was a very big win for such a young guy....especially against Dalton!! Fitzpatrick might have a big say at the seniors in January. I know it won't matter as far as the olympics is concerned, but it will still be interesting to see how he does! Btw, sad to hear about Milligan
Credit where it's due, I read one of the best boxing articles in a long time in tonights cork evening echo. About the 3 walsh brothers from shanagarry. 22 all irelands between the 3 of them...including 2 senior. Padraig Hoare did a great job in writing it. Any one on the thread remember seeing any of them fight?
John Duddy has his gloves back on, but will not return from retirement http://www.irish-boxing.com/2011/12/duddy-has-his-gloves-on-again-but-wont-make-a-ring-return/ Harvey backs Frampton to beat Hughes- (Harvey fought Hughes last weekend) http://www.irish-boxing.com/2011/12/recent-hughes-foe-belfasts-harvey-backs-frampton/
Carlos will bury Hughes in a couple of rounds, Hughes is very poor - Carl far too good for him, I would have liked a much stiffer test tbh.
Big Bang declined the offer to fight Alexander Bakhtin Xmas day so this show has been cancelled. Guillermo Rigondeaux will fight Bakhtin after he takes care of business with WBA champion Rico Ramos on January 20th. Poor Bakhtin
